Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Disconnect the power to the oven by switching the circuit breaker off or unplugging the power cord from the outlet.

Step 3: Go to the oven’s rear.

Step 4: Get a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 5: Using the quarter inch nut driver, take out the four screws which hold the stove’s upper access panel in place.

Step 6: Lift the access panel off and set it aside.

Step 7: Take a picture of the control board to note where each wire goes on it.

Step 8: Disconnect the wires from the control board.

Step 9: Take out the screws which hold the control board to the oven.

Step 10: Remove the control board from the stove and get a new one.

Step 11: Screw the new board to the stove and reconnect the wires. Make sure each wire goes to the right place.

Step 12: Reposition the oven’s upper access panel and hold it in place with the four quarter inch screws.

Step 13: Plug the oven’s power cord back in or switch the circuit breaker back on.

Step 1: Disconnect the oven’s power to avoid the risk of electrocution. You can disconnect the power by unplugging the oven’s cord from the outlet or switching the circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Get a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 3: Using the quarter inch nut driver, take out the four screws which hold the oven’s upper rear access panel in place.

Step 4: Set the panel aside.

Step 5: Now, take out the screws which hold the control board to the control panel assembly.

Step 6: Get a putty knife and heat gun.

Step 7: Using the gun, carefully heat the glue which helps the touchpad stick to the control board. Do not place the heat gun too close to the board as this could damage it.

Step 8: Using the putty knife, carefully pry off the touchpad from the control board.

Step 9: Get a new touchpad.

Step 10: Peel the backing off the new touchpad.

Step 11: Stick the new touchpad to the control board.

Step 12: Secure the control board to the oven with the screws.

Step 13: Reposition the oven’s upper access panel.

Step 14: Hold the access panel in place with the four quarter inch screws.

Step 15: Plug the oven’s power cord back in or switch the circuit breaker on.

Step 16: Push the oven back to the wall.

Amana Oven Control Lock — How To Use

To use the control lockout feature in an Amana oven, follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: Locate the button with “To lock hold for 3 sec” underneath it. On some Amana oven models, it’s the “Start” button.

Step 2: Hold the down the button for 3 seconds. The oven control panel and door will lock.
