Electrolux Oven Light Is Not Working — Causes And Solutions

Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord for safety.

Step 2: If your oven uses gas, turn off the gas supply.

Step 3: Lift off the burner grates.

Step 4: Also lift off the caps and bases.

Step 5: Open the door of the oven.

Step 6: Take out the screws under the oven’s front panel which hold it in place.

Step 7: Pull off the oven control knobs making sure to note where each one goes.

Step 8: Lift the stove top off a bit.

Step 9: Use a quarter inch socket to take out the nuts at the top of the front panel.

Step 12: Disconnect the wires from the door light switch.

Step 15: Push the switch into the oven’s frame.

4. Touchpad

If your oven touchpad has an “Oven Light” button and it doesn’t work when you press it to turn on the light, it may be faulty. Follow the steps listed below to replace your Electrolux oven touchpad…

Step 1: Unplug the oven for safety.

Step 2: Remove the screws holding the oven’s upper back panel with a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 3: Set the panel aside.

Step 4: Take out the Philips head screws which hold the control board to the oven.

Step 5: Take a picture of where the wires go on the control board then disconnect them.

Step 6: Use a heat gun to melt the glue which helps the touchpad stick to the control board.

Step 7: Pry the touchpad off using a putty knife.

Step 8: Get a new touchpad and peel off the backing.

Step 9: Stick the new touchpad to the control board.

Step 10: Reconnect the wires to the right places on the control board.

Step 11: Screw the control board to the oven.

Step 2: Take out the four screws which hold the microwave’s trim piece in place. Remove the screws with a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 3: Remove the trim piece and lift the microwave out of the cabinet.

Step 4: Set the microwave on a flat sturdy surface.

Step 5: Take out the Philips head screws on the sides of the microwave which hold the cover in place. There are two screws on each side.

Step 6: Using the Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws at the back of the microwave which hold the cover in place as well.

Step 7: Lift the microwave cover off and set it aside. When you lift the cover off, make sure not to touch the capacitor as it houses a dangerous amount of voltage even when the microwave has been unplugged.

Step 8: Take out the screws on the right side of the microwave which hold the mounting bracket of the light bulb housing in place.

Step 9: Remove the mounting bracket.

Step 10: Using a flat head screwdriver, carefully pry off the black light bulb housing.

Step 11: Unscrew the light bulb from the holder.

Step 12: Get a new light bulb and screw it into the socket.

Step 13: Push the light bulb assembly housing back into place.

Step 14: Reposition the mounting bracket and hold them in place with the screws.

Step 15: Position the microwave cover and return the screws at the back and sides which hold it in place.

Step 16: Lift the microwave up and push it back into the cabinet.

Step 17: Return the trim piece and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 18: Plug the oven’s power cord back in.

Step 3: Remove the trim piece.

Step 8: Take out the screws which hold the metal mounting bracket on the right side of the microwave.

Step 9: Using a flat head screwdriver, carefully pry the light bulb assembly’s black housing off.

Step 10: Unscrew the light bulb from the socket on the housing.

Step 11: Disconnect the wires from the light bulb socket using a pair of needle nose pliers.

Step 12: Remove the light socket from the black housing.

Step 13: Get a new light socket and position it in the housing.

Step 14: Reconnect the wires to the light socket.

Step 15: Screw the light bulb into the socket.

Step 16: Position the black housing back on the microwave frame.

Step 17: Reposition the metal mounting bracket and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 18: Return the microwave cover.

Step 19: Hold the cover in place at the back and sides with the screws.

Step 20: Lift the microwave up and push it back into the cabinet.

Step 21: Reposition the microwave’s trim piece and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 22: Reconnect the power to the microwave by plugging the power cord back into the outlet.
