1. Detergent

Step 1: Line your bathtub with a towel.
Step 2: Open your oven door and take out the racks.
Step 3: Place the racks on the towel lined bathtub.
Step 4: Plug the bathtub drain to prevent any water from going out.
Step 5: Submerge the racks in hot water. The water should be as hot as possible.
Step 6: Get a cup of detergent and dissolve it in some water.
Step 7: Pour the detergent over the oven racks. It is best to use powdered detergent for this.
Step 8: Sprinkle some more powdered detergent over the racks. Do not dissolve it this time.
Step 9: Leave the racks to sit in the water overnight. If possible, you could leave it longer than this. The longer you leave it, the easier it will be to scrub off all the grime.
Step 10: When you’re ready, get a sponge and scrub the oven racks. Get a toothbrush as well to get into the small parts of the rack.
Step 11: Rinse the racks with some cool water.

Step 5: Spray the cleaner on the clingfilm.
Step 6: Place the racks on the clingfilm.
Step 7: Spray the oven cleaner on the racks.
Step 8: Spread some more clingfilm on the racks and wrap it tightly.

Step 10: Afterwards, unwrap the clingfilm from the racks.
