How To Turn On Broiler On A Frigidaire Oven

Step 1: Press the “Broil” button.

Step 2: Press the up arrow to broil on high or the down arrow to broil on low.

Step 3: Press “Start”.

Step 4: Leave the oven to preheat.

Step 5: Once the oven is preheated, open the door and place your food on the rack.

If your Frigidaire oven broiler is not working, the broil element or control board is faulty. Below we show you how to replace these two components.

1.  Broil Element

Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace the broil element in a Frigidaire oven…

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Unplug the power cord from the outlet.

Step 3: Open the oven door.

Step 4: Take out the racks in the oven and set them aside.

Step 5: Take out the two screws at the top of the oven wall which hold the broil element.

Step 6: Take out the other two screws on the back wall which secure the broil element as well.

Step 7: Pull the element out and disconnect the wires.

Step 8: Remove the broil element and get a replacement.

Step 9: Connect the wires to the terminals of the new broil element.

Step 10: Return the screws at the back wall of the oven which secure the element.

Step 11: Return the other two screws at the top as well.

Step 12: Slide the racks back into the oven.

Step 13: Close the oven door.

Step 14: Plug the oven’s power cord in and push it back to the wall.

2. Control Board

To replace your Frigidaire oven control board, do the following…

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Unplug the power cord or switch off the circuit breaker.

Step 3: If your oven is a gas one, turn off the gas supply as well.

Step 4: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the screws which hold the oven’s upper back panel in place.

Step 5: Set the panel aside.

Step 6: Take a picture of the control board.

Step 7: Disconnect the wires from the control board.

Step 8: Remove the screws securing the control board to the oven.

Step 9: Carefully pry off the touchpad from the control board using a putty knife.

Step 10: Get a new control board and stick the touchpad to it.

Step 11: Screw the new control board to the oven.

Step 12: Connect the wires to the right places on the control board. Use the picture you took for reference.

Step 13: Return the upper back panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 14: Plug the oven back in and turn on the gas supply.
