1. Clogged Burner

If you smell gas but your Frigidaire oven burner won’t light, it may be clogged. Follow these steps to unclog your oven burner…

Step 1: Lift off the burner grates and set them aside.

Step 2: Lift off the cap of the faulty burner.

Step 3: Also lift off the base as well.

Step 4: On the burner bases, there are holes around. If these holes get clogged, the burner won’t light. Using a toothpick or needle, clean the holes by pushing in and out.

Step 5: Place the burner base back.

Step 6: Return the burner cap as well.

Step 7: Reposition the burner grates.

2. The Igniter

If the burner igniter fails, it won’t ignite the gas sent to it. To replace your Frigidaire oven burner igniter, do the following…

Step 1: Unplug the oven and shut off the gas supply.

Step 2: Lift off the burner grates and caps.

Step 3: Take out the screws which hold the burner bases in place using a 3/16th inch socket. You could also use a nut driver.

Step 4: Set the burner bases aside.

Step 5: Take out the screws which hold the orifice holders to the cook top with a quarter inch nut driver. You could also use a socket.

Step 6: Open the oven door.

Step 7: Make a note of where each control knob goes.

Step 8: Pull out the control knobs from the shaft.

Step 9: Take out the two screws under the oven’s front panel using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 10: Remove the panel.

Step 11: Take out the other two Philips head screwdrivers which hold the cook top in place.

Step 12: Pull the cook top forward and remove it.

Step 13: Disconnect the wire from the igniter of the faulty burner.

Step 14: Pull out the igniter from the orifice holder and get a new one.

Step 15: Position the new igniter in the orifice holder.

Step 16: Connect the wire to the igniter.

Step 17: Reposition the stove top.

Step 18: Hold it in place with the two screws.

Step 19: Return the front panel and the two screws which hold it in place.

Step 20: Push the control knobs back on the shafts.

Step 21: Close the door of the oven.

Step 22: Pull the orifice holders up and hold them in place with the screws.

Step 23: Return the burner bases and the screws which hold them in place.

Step 24: Return the caps and grates as well.

3. Igniter Wire Harness

Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace the igniter wire harness of a Frigidaire stove…

Step 1: Lift off the burner grates.

Step 2: Shut off the oven’s gas supply.

Step 3: Unplug the oven’s power cord as well.

Step 4: Lift off the burner caps and take out the screws which hold the burner bases in place using a 3/16th inch nut driver.

Step 5: Take out the screws on the stove top which hold the orifice holders in place. Remove the screws with a quarter inch nut driver or socket.

Step 6: Pull off the control knobs from the oven’s front panel. Make sure to note where each one goes before doing so.

Step 7: Open the oven door and take out the two screws which hold the front panel in place with a Philips head screwdriver. The screws will be under the panel.

Step 8: Set the panel aside and take out the other two screws which hold the cook top in place.

Step 9: Pull the cook top off and set it aside.

Step 10: Note where each wire goes on the spark module then disconnect them. The spark module is on the left.

Step 11: Disconnect the wires from the igniters.

Step 12: Get a new wire harness and connect the wires to the igniters.

Step 13: Connect the wires to the spark module making sure each one goes to the right place.

Step 14: Return the stove top and the screws under it which hold it in place.

Step 15: Reposition the front panel.

Step 16: Hold it in place with the two screws.

Step 17: Push the control knobs back onto the shafts.

Step 18: Pull the orifice holders up and hold them in place with the screws.

Step 19: Reposition the burner bases and return the screws which secure them.

Step 20: Return the burner caps and grates as well.

Step 21: Plug the oven back in.

Step 22: Turn the gas supply back on.

4. Spark Module

This is the final possible reason why your Frigidaire oven burner won’t light. Below, we show you how to replace a Frigidaire oven spark module…

Step 1: Turn off the oven’s gas supply and unplug the power cord from the outlet.

Step 2: Lift the burner grates off and set them aside.

Step 3: Lift the burner caps off and take out the screws which hold the burner bases in place. Do this with a 3/16th inch nut driver.

Step 4: Set the burner bases aside.

Step 5: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the screws which hold the orifice holders to the stove top.

Step 6: Pull off the control knobs and set them aside. Make sure to note where each one goes before doing so.

Step 7: Open the oven door and take out the Philips head screws which hold the oven’s front panel in place.

Step 8: Set the panel aside and take out the other Philips head screws under the stove top which secure it.

Step 9: Set the stove top aside.

Step 10: Take a picture of the spark module to remember where each wire goes. The spark module is on the left.

Step 11: Disconnect the wires from the spark module.

Step 12: Take out the screw which holds the spark module to the oven frame.

Step 13: Get a new spark module and transfer the mounting bracket from the old one to the new one.

Step 14: Screw the new spark module into place.

Step 15: Reconnect the wires to the spark module using the picture you took for reference.

Step 16: Reposition the stove top.

Step 17: Hold the stove top in place with the Philips head screws.

Step 18: Return the front panel.

Step 19: Secure the panel to the oven with the two screws.

Step 20: Push the control knobs back onto the shafts. Make sure each one goes to the right place.

Step 21: Close the oven door.

Step 22: Return all the screws which hold the orifice holders to the stove top.

Step 23: Align the burner bases.

Step 24: Hold the burner bases in place with the screws.

Step 25: Return the burner caps.

Step 26: Also return the burner grates.

Step 27: Plug the oven back in.

Step 28: Turn the oven’s gas supply back on.

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Shut off the oven’s gas supply.

Step 7: Disconnect the wires from the spark module using a pair of needle nose pliers.

Step 8: Get a new spark module.

Step 9: Connect the wires to the right places on the new spark module. Use the picture you took earlier for reference.

Step 10: Clip the spark module onto the right side of the oven frame.

Step 11: Reposition the oven’s lower back panel.

Step 12: Hold the panel in place with the screws.

Step 13: Plug the oven back in.

Step 14: Turn the oven’s gas supply back on.
