Frigidaire Oven Element Not Working — How To Fix
If your Frigidaire oven element is not working, the control board or the element itself is faulty. Below we show you how to replace these components in a Frigidaire oven.
1. Bake Element
Follow these steps to replace the bake element in a Frigidaire oven…
Step 1: Disconnect the power to the oven by unplugging the power cord or switching the circuit breaker off.
Step 2: Open the door of the oven and take out the racks.
Step 3: Take out the screws on the lower back wall of the oven which hold the bake element in place. Do this with either a Robertson screwdriver or quarter inch nut driver.
Step 4: Pull out the bake element terminals.
Step 5: Disconnect the wires connected to the bake element.
Step 6: Take the bake element out of the oven and test it with a multimeter. If there is no continuity, the bake element should be replaced.
Step 7: Get a replacement element.
Step 8: Take the element to the oven and connect the wires to it.
Step 9: Push the element in.
Step 10: Hold the element in place with the screws.
Step 11: Return the racks to the oven.
Step 12: Close the door of the oven.
Step 13: Switch the circuit breaker back on or plug the power cord back in.

2. Control Board
If the bake element wasn’t faulty, the control board should be replaced. Below, we show you how to replace the control board in a Frigidaire oven…
Step 1: Switch the circuit breaker off or unplug the oven’s power cord to avoid the risk of electrocution.
Step 2: Pull the oven away from the wall to access the back.
Step 3: Take out the screws which secure the upper back panel.
Step 4: Set the panel aside.
Step 5: Disconnect the wires from the control board. Take a picture first to remember where each wire goes.
Step 6: Take out the four screws which hold the control board in place.
Step 7: Remove the control board and set on a towel lined surface.
Step 8: Get a putty knife.
Step 9: Using the putty knife, pry off the touchpad from the control board.
Step 10: Get a replacement board.
Step 11: Align the touchpad on the new board and stick it in place.
Step 12: Take the control board back to the oven.
Step 13: Hold the board in place with the four screws.
Step 14: Reconnect all the wires to the board using the picture for reference.
Step 15: Reposition the oven’s upper back panel.
Step 16: Secure the panel with the screws.
Step 17: Push the oven back.
Step 18: Plug the power cord back in or switch the breaker on.

Frigidaire Oven Broil Element Not Working — How To Fix
If your Frigidaire oven broil element is not working, it has probably gone bad. Below are the steps for you to follow in order to replace your Frigidaire oven broil element…
Step 1: First disconnect the power to the oven. You can do this by unplugging the power cord from the outlet.
Step 2: Open the oven door and take out the racks.
Step 3: Go to the oven rear and take out the screws which hold the lower panel in place.
Step 4: Lift the lower panel off and set it aside.
Step 5: Disconnect the wires from the broil element terminals.
Step 6: Go to the front of the oven.
Step 7: Take out the four screws which hold the broil element in place. There will be two at the top and two at the back.
Step 8: Remove the broil element and test with a multimeter. If there is no continuity, the broil element should be replaced.
Step 9: Get a new broil element and secure it to the oven with the four screws.
Step 10: Reconnect the wires to the broil element terminals.
Step 11: Reposition the oven’s back panel and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 12: Slide the racks back into the oven.
Step 13: Close the oven door.
Step 14: Plug the oven’s power cord back in.

Frigidaire Stove Element Stays On — How To Fix
If your Frigidaire stove element stays on, the burner switch is probably faulty. Follow these steps to replace the burner switch in a Frigidaire stove…
Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the power cord.
Step 2: Go to the oven’s front and pull off the control knob of the faulty burner.
Step 3: Take out the two screws you see to release the infinite switch.
Step 4: Take out the screws which hold the oven’s upper back panel in place.
Step 5: Remove the panel and set aside.
Step 6: Disconnect the wires from the burner switch. Take a picture of the switch to know where each wire goes before disconnecting the wires.
Step 7: Remove the switch.
Step 8: Get a new switch and connect the wires to it.
Step 9: Return the oven’s upper back panel and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 10: Return the screws at the front of the oven which secure the switch.
Step 11: Push the control knob back in.
Step 12: Plug the power cord back into the outlet.

Frigidaire Stove Element Not Working — How To Fix
Two different elements are used in Frigidaire stoves. One is the element coil, another is the surface element. If these stop working, your stove top won’t turn on. Below we show you to replace these Frigidaire stove components.
1. Element Coil
To replace the element coil in your Frigidaire stove, follow the steps listed below…
Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.
Step 2: Lift the element coil from the faulty burner.
Step 3: Pull the coil terminals out of the receptacles.
Step 4: Test the coil for continuity using a multimeter. If there is no continuity, the coil should be replaced.
Step 5: Get a new element coil and insert the terminals into the receptacles.
Step 6: Lower the coil and plug the oven back in.

2. Receptacle
Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace your Frigidaire oven element receptacle…
Step 1: First, unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet to avoid the risk of electrocution.
Step 2: Lift the element coil and pull it off the receptacles.
Step 3: Set the coil aside.
Step 4: Lift the drip pan and set it aside as well.
Step 5: Take out the screw which holds the element receptacle using a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 6: Lift the stove top.
Step 7: Cut the wires of the receptacle three inches away from the terminal block using a pair of pliers.
Step 8: Get a new receptacle kit.
Step 9: Look at your old receptacle to know what bracket was used.
Step 10: Choose the right bracket from the kit for the new terminal block.
Step 11: Position the bracket on the terminal block.
Step 12: Insert the wires from the kit into the receptacle till they are locked.
Step 13: Pull off the insulation at the end of the receptacle wires.
Step 14: Slide the heat shrink sleeves on the wires of the receptacle.
Step 15: Go to the stove top and strip 3/8th of an inch from the wire which was connected to the old receptacle.
Step 16: Match the receptacle wires to the stove top wires and secure them with ceramic wire nuts. Do not use plastic wire nuts as these could melt.
Step 17: Bend the wires and slide them into the heat shrink sleeves.
Step 18: Using a heat gun, shrink the sleeve on each wire. You can also use a lighter for this but be careful not to melt the sleeve as you use it.
Step 19: Lower the stove top.
Step 20: Hold the receptacle in place with a screwdriver.
Step 21: Reposition the drip pan.
Step 22: Insert the terminals of the element coil into the receptacles.
Step 23: Lower the coil.
Step 24: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.

3. Surface Element
If your Frigidaire stove uses a surface element and it doesn’t work, follow these steps to replace it…
Step 1: To avoid the risk of electrocution, unplug the power cord or switch the circuit breaker off.
Step 2: Open the oven door and take out the screws under the stove top which hold it in place.
Step 3: Lift the stove top and prop it with two planks. Be careful not to bend any of the wires as you do this.
Step 4: Note the position of the element tabs.
Step 5: Take out the screws which hold the mounting bracket which secures the faulty element.
Step 6: Lower the bracket with the element.
Step 7: Take a picture of the element you want to replace to remember where each wire goes.
Step 8: Lift the element off the mounting bracket. Make sure to mark the holes where each of the element tabs go in.
Step 9: Note where each tab is on the element to ensure you position them properly on the new one. There are numbers next to the hole each tab is on.
Step 10: Take out the screws which hold the tabs to the element.
Step 11: Get a new element.
Step 12: Position the tabs on the new element. Make sure each one is where it’s supposed to be.
Step 13: Position the element tabs in the right holes.
Step 14: Reconnect the wires to the element making sure each one goes to the right place.
Step 15: Screw the mounting bracket back to the stove top.
Step 16: Remove the props and lower the stove top.
Step 17: Return the screws under the stove top which hold it in place.
Step 18: Shut the oven door and plug the power cord back in.
