Frigidaire Oven Error Code F045 — How To Fix

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet or switch the circuit breaker off.

Step 3: Take out the six screws which hold the upper back panel of the oven in place. Do this using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 4: Remove the panel and set it aside.

Step 5: Disconnect the two wires connected to the cooling fan assembly.

Step 6: Open the door of the oven.

Step 7: Take out the screws under the stove top which secure it using a Philips head screwdriver. There will be two or three screws.

Step 8: Pull the stove top off and set it aside on a towel lined sturdy surface.

Step 9: Take out the four Philips head screws which hold the cooling fan assembly to the panel.

Step 10: Go to the oven’s rear and remove the cooling fan assembly.

Step 11: Get a new cooling fan assembly.

Step 12: Peel off the strips of foam from the old fan and stick them on the new one.

Step 13: Position the cooling fan motor on the oven.

Step 14: Hold the cooling fan in place with the four Philips head screws.

Step 15: Reposition the stove top on the oven and push it back.

Step 16: Return the screws underneath the stove top which hold it in place.

Step 17: Close the oven door.

Step 18: Reconnect the wires to the cooling fan assembly.

Step 19: Reposition the oven’s upper back panel and secure it with the six screws.

Step 20: Tighten the six screws using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 21: Plug the oven back in or switch the circuit breaker back on.

If this error code appears on your oven, the temperature sensor or control board is faulty. Below we show you how to test and replace the temperature sensor in a Frigidaire oven…

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Unplug the power cord.

Step 3: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the screws which hold the oven’s upper rear panel in place. There should be six screws.

Step 4: Set the panel aside.

Step 5: Take out the screw under the oven’s lower rear panel on the left.

Step 6: Take out the other screws which hold the lower back panel in place.

Step 7: Set the panel aside.

Step 8: Disconnect the wire from the temperature sensor. The sensor is on the right side of the oven.

Step 9: Get a multimeter and turn it to the ohms setting.

Step 10: Touch the multimeter probes to the sensor wire connector. If the reading is lower than 1100 ohms or higher than 1300 ohms, the sensor is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 11: Take out the screws which hold the sensor in place.

Step 12: Remove the sensor and get a new one.

Step 13: Position the new sensor in the oven.

Step 14: Hold the sensor in place with the screws.

Step 15: Connect the wire plug to the sensor.

Step 16: Return the oven’s lower back panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 17: Also return the screw under it.

Step 18: Reposition the upper back panel and secure with the screws.

Step 19: Plug the oven back in or switch the circuit breaker on.

Step 20: Push the oven back to the wall.

Step 17: Reconnect the ribbon cable to the control board.

Step 19: Insert the tabs on the control panel into the slots in the microwave.
