Frigidaire Oven Fan Not Working — How To Fix

There are two possible reasons why your Frigidaire oven fan won’t work. We have listed them below and the steps you need to follow to fix them.

1. Fan Blade

To replace the fan blade in a Frigidaire oven, follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the power cord from the outlet.

Step 2: Open the door of the oven.

Step 3: Pull out the racks in the oven and set them aside.

Step 4: Take out the two screws which hold the fan cover to the oven’s back wall. Do this with a number two Philips head screwdriver.

Step 5: Remove the fan cover and set it aside.

Step 6: Using a 13 millimeter socket or wrench, take out the nut in the center of the fan blade which holds it to the motor shaft.

Step 7: Remove the fan blade and get a new one.

Step 8: Position the fan blade on the motor shaft and secure it with the nut.

Step 9: Slide the racks back into the oven.

Step 10: Close the oven door.

Step 11: Plug the oven back in.

Step 12: Push the oven back to the wall.

If your Frigidaire oven fan still won’t work after replacing the fan blade, the fan motor should be replaced.

2. Fan Motor

Below, we show you how to replace a Frigidaire oven fan motor…

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the power cord.

Step 2: Take out the screw under the oven’s lower back panel using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 3: Using the same quarter inch nut driver, take out the six screws which hold the oven’s lower back panel in place.

Step 4: Set the panel aside.

Step 5: Open the oven door and take out the racks in the oven.

Step 6: Flip the lock on each door hinge down with a flat head screwdriver.

Step 7: Close the door till it stops.

Step 8: Lift the door off and set it aside.

Step 9: Take out the two screws on the oven’s back wall which secure the fan cover.

Step 10: Take out the nut which holds the fan blade using a 13 millimeter socket or wrench.

Step 11: Remove the fan blade from the motor shaft.

Step 12: Go to the oven’s rear and disconnect the wires from the fan motor.

Step 13: Take out the screws which hold the fan motor in place using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 14: Remove the fan motor and get a new one.

Step 15: Position the new fan motor on the oven and secure with the screws.

Step 16: Connect the wires to the motor.

Step 17: Slide the fan blade on the motor shaft.

Step 18: Secure the fan blade with the nut.

Step 19: Return the fan cover and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 20: Slide the racks back into the oven.

Step 21: Lift the door and insert the hinges back into the slots on the sides of the oven.

Step 22: Open the door completely and flip the hinge locks back.

Step 23: Close the oven door and reposition the oven’s back panel.

Step 24: Secure the panel with the six screws.

Step 25: Return the screw under the back panel.

Step 26: Plug the oven in.

Step 27: Push the oven back to the wall.

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the power cord.

Step 2: Using a quarter inch nut driver take out the six screws which hold the oven’s upper back panel.

Step 3: Remove the panel.

Step 4: Disconnect the wires from the cooling fan.

Step 5: Open the door of the oven oven and take out the screws under the stove top with a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 6: Pull the stove top forward and set aside.

Step 7: Take out the four screws which hold the cooling fan using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 8: Remove the cooling fan and get a replacement.

Step 9: Transfer the strips of foam to the new cooling fan and screw it into place.

Step 10: Return the stove top and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 11: Close the door of the oven.

Step 12: Reconnect the wires to the cooling fan.

Step 13: Return the oven’s back panel and the screws which secure it.

Step 14: Plug the oven back in.

Frigidaire Oven Fan Won’t Turn Off — How To Fix

Below, we have listed the reasons why your Frigidaire oven fan won’t turn off and how to fix them.

1. High Limit Switch

Below are the steps for you to follow in order to replace the high limit switch in a Frigidaire oven…

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.

Step 3: Turn the oven around to access the back.

Step 4: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the screws which hold the oven’s upper and lower back panel. There should be about 12 screws.

Step 5: Set the panels aside.

Step 6: Disconnect the wires from the high limit switch and push the reset button if it has one. The high limit switch should be around the terminals of the bake or broil element.

Step 7: Get a multimeter and turn the dial to the ohms or resistance setting.

Step 8: Touch the multimeter probes to the terminals of the limit switch. If there is no continuity, the limit switch should be replaced.

Step 9: Get a new limit switch.

Step 10: Take out the screws which hold the limit switch in place.

Step 11: Remove the limit switch and screw the new one into place.

Step 12: Connect the wires to the switch terminals.

Step 13: Return the back panels and the screws which hold them in place.

Step 14: Tighten the screws with the quarter inch nut driver.

Step 15: Plug the oven back in.

Step 16: Turn the oven around and push it back to the wall.

2. Control Board

Frigidaire Oven Cooling Fan Won’t Turn Off  — How To Fix

If your Frigidaire oven cooling fan won’t turn off, the relay board should be replaced. Below we show you how to replace the relay board in a Frigidaire oven…

Step 1: Switch your oven’s circuit breaker off or unplug the power cord.

Step 2: Go to the oven’s rear and take out the six screws which secure the lower back panel of the oven using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 3: Also take out the screw under the lower back panel.

Step 4: Set the panel aside.

Step 5: The relay board is on the right. Note where each wire goes on the relay board then disconnect them.

Step 6: Take out the three screws which secure the relay board using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 7: Remove the relay board and get a replacement.

Step 8: Position the board on the oven and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 9: Connect the wires to the right places on the relay board.

Step 10: Return the back panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 11: Also return the screw under the back panel.

Step 12: Plug the oven back in.
