1. Igniter
The igniter is used in a Frigidaire gas oven. If the igniter stops working, the oven won’t heat. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace the igniter in a Frigidaire oven…
Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord or switch off the circuit breaker.
Step 2: Open the door of the oven.
Step 3: Push the lock on each door hinge towards yourself with a flat blade screwdriver.
Step 4: Close the door till it stops.
Step 5: Grip the sides of the oven door and lift it off.
Step 6: Set the door on a cloth line surface.
Step 7: Slide out the racks in the oven and set them aside.
Step 8: Using the same flat blade screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the oven’s bottom panel in place.
Step 9: Lift the panel out of the oven and set it aside.
Step 10: Take out the screw which holds the burner shield in place using a 3/8th inch nut driver.
Step 11: Remove the burner shield and set it aside.
Step 12: Pull out the oven’s bottom drawer.
Step 13: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the screw which holds the igniter wire cover in place.
Step 14: Move the cover and disconnect the igniter wire plug.
Step 15: Disconnect the wires connected to the safety valve.
Step 16: Take out the two screws which hold the igniter to the right side of the burner tube.
Step 17: Test the igniter using multimeter. If the igniter has no continuity, it should be replaced.
Step 18: Get a replacement igniter and screw it to the burner tube.
Step 19: Reconnect the wires to the safety valve.
Step 20: Pass the igniter wire plug back through the metal cover.
Step 21: Reconnect the igniter wire plug.
Step 22: Hold the igniter wire cover in place with the screw you took out.
Step 23: Also reposition the burner shield and hold it in place with the screw.
Step 24: Reposition the bottom panel of the oven.
Step 25: Return the screws which hold the bottom panel in place.
Step 26: Return the racks to the oven.
Step 27: Position the hinges on the oven door into the slot on each side of the oven.
Step 28: Open the oven door completely and push back the locks which secure the door hinges.
Step 29: Shut the oven door.
Step 30: Plug the oven back in or switch the circuit breaker back on.

2. Safety Valve
The safety valve sends gas to the igniter. If the safety valve is faulty, the igniter won’t receive any gas to ignite. To test and replace the safety valve in a Frigidaire oven, follow the steps listed below…
Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and disconnect the power cord.
Step 2: Shut off the oven’s gas supply as well.
Step 3: Using a pair of channel lock pliers and a 9/16th inch wrench, unscrew the nut which holds the gas tube to the safety valve on the lower back of the oven.
Step 4: Go to the front of the oven and open the door.
Step 5: Flip the locks on the door hinges forward with a flat head screwdriver.
Step 6: Close the door till it can’t go any further.
Step 7: Grip the sides of the door, lift it off, and set on a sturdy surface lined with a cloth.
Step 8: Take out the racks in the oven.
Step 9: Take out the two screws at the bottom of the oven.
Step 10: Remove the bottom panel and set it aside.
Step 11: Take out the screw which secures the burner shield with a 3/8th inch nut driver.
Step 12: Remove the burner shield from the oven.
Step 13: Pull out the bottom drawer and disconnect the wires connected to the safety valve.
Step 14: Take out the two screws which hold the burner tube in place. There will be one screw at the front and one at the back.
Step 15: Take out the screw which holds the safety valve in place.
Step 16: Test the safety valve using a multimeter after removing it from the oven. If there is no continuity, the valve should be replaced.
Step 17: Get a new safety valve.
Step 18: Transfer the mounting bracket from the old safety valve to the new one.
Step 19: Position the safety valve in the oven and hold it in place with the screw.
Step 20: Align the burner tube on the safety valve.
Step 21: Return the screws at the front and back of the oven interior which hold the burner tube in place.
Step 22: Reconnect the wires to the safety valve.
Step 23: Position the burner shield and secure it with the screw.
Step 24: Return the oven’s bottom panel.
Step 25: Hold the bottom panel in place with the screws.
Step 26: Return the racks to the oven.
Step 27: Lift the oven door and reposition the hinges in the slots on the sides of the oven.
Step 28: Open the door fully and flip the hinge locks back.
Step 29: Shut the oven door and push the bottom drawer back in.
Step 30: Go to the oven’s rear and return the nut which secures the gas tube to the safety valve. Make sure to tighten it properly or gas will leak.
Step 31: Plug the oven back in.
Step 32: Turn the gas supply back on.

4. Broil Element
The bake and broil elements in an electric oven work together to heat the oven. If the broil element stops working, the oven won’t heat. To replace the broil element in a Frigidaire oven, simply follow the steps below…
Step 1: First, switch the circuit breaker off or unplug the power cord.
Step 2: Open the oven door.
Step 3: Slide out the racks in the oven.
Step 4: Take out the screws on the top wall of the oven which hold the broil element in place. There will be two.
Step 5: Take out the other two screws on the upper back wall of the oven holding the broil element as well.
Step 6: Go to the oven’s rear and take out the screws which hold the upper and lower panels.
Step 7: Remove the back panels and set them aside.
Step 8: Disconnect the two wires connected to the broil element terminals.
Step 9: Go to the oven interior and take out the broil element.
Step 10: Get a multimeter and turn it to the ohms setting.
Step 11: Touch the two probes of the multimeter to the broil element terminals. If there is continuity, the broil element isn’t faulty. If there is no continuity, the broil element should be replaced.
Step 12: Get a new broil element and insert the terminals into the back of the oven.
Step 13: Return the two screws on the upper back wall of the oven which hold the broil element.
Step 14: Go to the oven’s rear and connect the wires to the broil element terminals.
Step 15: Position the back panels on the oven.
Step 16: Hold the panels in place with the screws.
Step 17: Go to the oven interior and return the screws on the top wall which secure the broil element.
Step 18: Slide the racks into the oven.
Step 19: Shut the oven door.
Step 20: Plug the oven back in or switch the breaker back on.

5. Thermal Fuse
Frigidaire ovens have thermal fuses which can burn out if exposed to high temperatures. If you’ve just finished using the self clean feature or baking at a high temperature and your oven won’t heat, the thermal fuse has probably burned out. Follow the steps below to test and replace the thermal fuse in a Frigidaire oven…
Step 1: First, disconnect the oven’s power by unplugging the power cord from the outlet.
Step 2: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 3: Take out the screws which hold the upper and lower back panel of the oven.
Step 4: Set the panels aside.
Step 5: Disconnect the wires from the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse will be close to the terminals of the bake or broil element.
Step 6: Get a multimeter and turn it to the ohms setting.
Step 7: Touch the multimeter probes to the thermal fuse. If the multimeter shows a reading anywhere from 0 to 1 ohm, its still good. If it doesn’t show a reading, the thermal fuse has no continuity and should be replaced.
Step 8: Take out the screw which holds the thermal fuse to the back of the oven.
Step 9: Remove the thermal fuse and get a replacement.
Step 10: Position the new thermal fuse on the oven and hold it in place with the screw.
Step 11: Reconnect the wires to the thermal fuse.
Step 12: Reposition the oven’s back panels and hold them in place with the screws.
Step 13: Plug the oven in.
Step 14: Push the oven back to the wall.

6. Control Board

Step 1: To avoid the risk of electrocution, unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet. You may need to pull the oven away from the wall to do this.
Step 2: If your oven is a gas one, shut off the gas supply as well.
Step 3: Turn the oven around.
Step 4: Take out the screws which hold the oven’s upper back panel in place.
Step 5: Set the panel aside.
Step 6: Take a picture of the wires connected to the control board.
Step 7: Disconnect the wires from the control board.
Step 8: Take out the screws which hold the control board in place.
Step 9: Remove the control board.
Step 10: Get a heat gun and putty knife.
Step 11: Using the heat gun, melt the glue which helps the touchpad stick to the control board. Make sure not to place the gun too close to the touchpad or you could burn a hole through it.
Step 12: Pry the touchpad off the control board using the putty knife.
Step 13: Get a new control board.
Step 14: Stick the touchpad to the new control board.
Step 15: Position the control board on the oven.
Step 16: Hold the control board in place with the screws.
Step 17: Connect the wires using the picture you took for reference.
Step 18: Reposition the oven’s upper back panel.
Step 19: Hold the panel in place with the screws.
Step 20: Turn the oven back.
Step 21: Plug the power cord back into the outlet.

7. Relay Board
A relay board is used in some Frigidaire ovens. If the relays on the board fail, the oven won’t heat. Below are the steps for you to follow in order to replace the relay board in a Frigidaire oven…
Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet to avoid the risk of electrocution.
Step 2: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the screw which holds the power cord plate underneath the lower back panel of the oven.
Step 3: Take out the six screws which hold the lower back panel of the oven.
Step 4: Lift the panel off and set it aside.
Step 5: Take a picture of the relay board to remember where each wire goes. The relay board is at the right side of the oven’s rear.
Step 6: Disconnect the wires from the relay board.
Step 7: Take out the screws which hold the relay board to the oven. There will be three screws.
Step 8: Remove the board and get a replacement.
Step 9: Secure the new relay board to the oven’s rear using the three screws.
Step 10: Reconnect the wires to the relay board using the picture you took for reference.
Step 11: Reposition the oven’s lower back panel.
Step 12: Hold the back panel in place with the six screws.
Step 13: Return the screw under the oven’s lower back panel which holds the power cord plate in place.
Step 14: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.

Step 2: Take out the racks which hold the upper back panel of the range.
Step 3: Remove the upper back panel and set it aside.

Step 14: Also return the screw under the oven’s lower back panel.

Frigidaire Oven Is Not Heating Evenly — How To Fix
Below we show you the two possible reasons why your Frigidaire oven is not heating evenly.
1. Broil Element
The bake and broil elements in an oven work together to heat the oven. If the broil element fails, only the bake element will turn on. This will cause the oven to heat unevenly. Read how to replace your Frigidaire oven broil element in the “Frigidaire Oven Is Not Heating” section.
2. Fan Motor
If the fan in your oven stops working, the oven won’t heat evenly. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace the fan motor in a Frigidaire oven…
Step 1: Pull the range away from the wall.
Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet or switch the circuit breaker off.
Step 3: Take out the screw underneath the oven’s lower back panel using a quarter inch nut driver.
Step 4: Take out the six screws which hold the oven’s lower back panel in place.
Step 5: Push the lower panel down and remove it.
Step 6: Set the panel aside.
Step 7: Go to the oven’s front and open the door.
Step 8: Flip the lock on each door hinge towards yourself with a flat blade screwdriver.

Step 15: Take out the nut which holds the fan blade in place using an adjustable wrench. Turn the nut clockwise to remove.
Step 16: Slide the fan blade off the motor shaft and set it aside.
Step 17: Go to the oven’s rear and disconnect the wires from the fan motor.
Step 18: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the fan motor in place. There are three screws.
Step 19: Pull out the fan motor.
Step 20: Test the fan motor using a multimeter. If there is no continuity, the fan motor should be replaced.
Step 21: Get a new fan motor.
Step 22: Position the motor shaft into the hole in the oven.
Step 23: Hold the fan motor in place with the three screws.
Step 24: Connect the wires to the fan motor.
Step 25: Reposition the oven’s lower back panel and secure it with the six screws.
Step 26: Return the other screw under the panel.
Step 27: Slide the fan blade back on the motor shaft.
Step 28: Hold the blade in place with the nut.
Step 29: Return the fan cover.
Step 30: Secure the fan cover with the screws.
Step 31: Slide the racks back into the oven.
Step 32: Lift the oven door and insert the hinges back into the slots.
Step 33: Open the door completely and flip the hinge locks back.
Step 34: Close the door of the oven.
Step 35: Plug the oven in.
