Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: To prevent the risk of electrocution, unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet or switch the circuit breaker off.

Step 3: If your Frigidaire oven is a gas one, shut off the gas supply as well.

Step 4: Take out the screw underneath the oven’s lower back panel on the left.

Step 5: Take out the other screws which hold the lower back panel in place.

Step 6: Lift the lower back panel off.

Step 7: Set it aside.

Step 8: Note where each wire goes on the door lock motor.

Step 9: Disconnect the wires from the door lock motor.

Step 10: Take out the screws which secure the door lock motor.

Step 11: Remove the motor from the rod and get a new one.

Step 12: Position the new motor on the rod.

Step 13: Hold the motor in place with the screws.

Step 14: Reconnect the wires to the door lock moor.

Step 15: Return the oven’s lower back panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 16: Also return the other screw underneath the panel.

Step 17: Plug the oven back in.

Step 18: Turn your gas supply back on.

Frigidaire Self Cleaning Oven Door Won’t Lock — How To Fix

If your Frigidaire self cleaning oven door won’t lock, the door latch or door lock motor is faulty. If your oven doesn’t have a manual door lock, read the section directly above this one to replace the door lock motor. If your Frigidaire oven has a manual lock, follow these steps to replace the door latch assembly in a Frigidaire oven…

Step 1: Unplug your oven’s power cord from the outlet.

Step 2: Shut off the gas supply as well.

Step 3: Remove the burner grates.

Step 4: Lift off the burner caps and bases.

Step 5: Take out all the screws on the stove top which hold it in place using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 6: Carefully lift the stove top off and set aside.

Step 7: You will need to take out the metal plate which covers the stove top. To do this, take out the two screws on the front sides of the panel using a pair of pliers. There will be one screw on each side.

Step 8: Using a Philips head screwdriver and a quarter inch nut driver, take out the remaining screws which hold the metal plate in place.

Step 9: Lift the plate off and set it aside.

Step 10: Open the door of the oven. If the door doesn’t open, get a clothe hanger and insert it between the door.

Step 11: Pull back on the door latch with the clothe hanger to release the door.

Step 12: Take out the two screws at the front of the oven which hold the door latch in place.

Step 13: Lift the door latch off the rod.

Step 14: Get a new door latch.

Step 15: Position the new door latch in the oven and insert the rod into it.

Step 16: Secure the latch to the oven with the two screws.

Step 17: Return the metal plate and all the screws which hold it in place.

Step 18: Reposition the stove top on the metal plate.

Step 19: Return all the screws which hold the stove top in place.

Step 20: Return the burner bases and caps.

Step 21: Reposition the grates.

Step 22: Turn the oven’s gas supply back on.

Step 23: Plug the oven back in.
