Frigidaire Oven Clicking Noise — How To Fix

If your Frigidaire oven makes a clicking noise while in use, it’s the relays turning on and off. However, if your Frigidaire oven is a gas one and it makes a clicking noise when it’s not in use, the igniter is wet. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to clean a wet igniter…

Step 1: Unplug your oven.

Step 2: Shut off the gas supply and open the door of the oven.

Step 3: Push down the locks on the door hinges using a flat head screwdriver.

Step 4: Close the door till you feel the locks engage.

Step 5: Lift the door off. Make sure not to hold the door by the handle as you do so.

Step 6: Take out the racks and remove the two screws on the bottom of the oven which hold the panel using the flat head screwdriver. The screws will be close to the oven’s back wall.

Step 7: Remove the panel from the oven.

Step 8: Take out the nut which holds the heat shield. Do this with a 3/8th inch socket or nut driver.

Step 9: Remove the heat shield.

Step 10: Take out the screw which holds the igniter wire cover with a quarter inch socket.

Step 11: Disconnect the wire connected to the igniter.

Step 12: Disconnect the wires connected to the safety valve.

Step 13: Remove the two screws which hold the igniter to the burner tube.

Step 14: Remove the igniter from the oven.

Step 15: Clean the igniter with paper towels. If it’s dirty, brush off the dirt with a soft toothbrush.

Step 16: Leave the igniter out to air dry overnight.

Step 17: Afterwards, take it back to the oven and position it on the burner tube.

Step 18: Screw the igniter back into place.

Step 19: Connect the wires back to the safety valve.

Step 20: Reconnect the igniter wire connector.

Step 21: Screw the igniter wire cover back into place.

Step 22: Return the heat shield and the nut which secures it.

Step 23: Also return the bottom panel to the oven.

Step 24: Secure the panel with the two screws.

Step 25: Slide the oven racks back in.

Step 26: Align the hinges on the oven door into the slots on the sides of the oven.

Step 27: To hold the door in place, flip the hinge locks back.

Step 28: Shut the door.

Step 29: Plug the oven in.

Step 30: Turn the gas supply back on.

Step 1: Turn the oven around.

Step 2: Unplug the oven from the outlet.

Step 3: To access the blower fan, the oven’s upper back panel will need to be removed. Take out the screws holding the panel using a 1/4th inch nut driver.

Step 4: Set the panel aside and disconnect the two wires connected to the blower fan.

Step 5: Open the oven’s door.

Step 6: With a Philips head screwdriver, remove the screws under the stove top. Depending on your oven model, there will be two or three screws.

Step 8: Lift the stove top off and set it aside.

Step 9: There are four screws on the oven’s back frame which hold the blower fan in place. Take out the screws with a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 10: Remove the blower fan from the oven and get a new one.

Step 11: Peel off the strips of foam from the old blower fan. There should be four of them.

Step 12: Stick the foam strips onto the new blower fan.

Step 13: Position the blower fan on the oven.

Step 14: Secure it with the screws.

Step 15: Return the stove top.

Step 16: Hold the stove top in place with the screws at the bottom.

Step 17: Close the oven door.

Step 18: Go to the oven’s rear and connect the wires to the blower fan.

Step 19: Reposition the oven’s back panel.

Step 20: Hold the panel in place with the screws.

Step 21: Turn the oven around and plug it back in.

Step 14: Take out the screws which hold the fan motor to the oven.

Step 15: Remove the fan motor and get a new one.

Step 16: Screw the new fan motor into place.

Step 17: Connect the wires to the motor.

Step 18: Reposition the oven’s back panel and the six screws which hold it in place.

Step 19: Return the other screw under the lower back panel.

Step 20: Slide the fan blade back onto the motor shaft and hold it in place with the nut.

Step 21: Return the fan cover.

Step 22: Hold the fan cover in place with the screws.

Step 23: Slide the racks back into the oven.

Step 24: Align the hinges on the oven door into the slots on the sides of the oven.

Step 25: Open the door completely and flip the locks back.

Step 26: Close the oven door.

Step 27: Plug the oven back in.
