If your Frigidaire gas oven won’t turn on, the igniter is probably faulty. Below we have listed the steps for you to follow to replace the igniter in a Frigidaire oven…

Step 1: Unplug the oven or switch off the circuit breaker.

Step 2: Shut off the oven’s gas supply.

Step 3: Open the oven door.

Step 4: Take out the racks in the oven and set them aside.

Step 5: Pull out the oven’s bottom drawer.

Step 6: Set the drawer aside as well.

Step 7: Look underneath the oven, you should see the igniter wire connector on the left. Push the tab on the igniter connector and pull the wire connector off.

Step 8: Using a flat head screwdriver, take out the two screws close to the oven’s back wall which hold the bottom panel in place.

Step 9: Remove the bottom panel from the oven.

Step 10: Take out the screw or screws which hold the flame spreader in place.

Step 11: Remove the flame spreader and set it aside.

Step 12: Take out the screws at the front and back of the burner tube which hold it to the oven. There will be one screw at the back and one at the front.

Step 13: Take out the burner tube from the oven.

Step 14: Take out the two screws which hold the igniter to the burner.

Step 15: Remove the igniter and get a replacement.

Step 16: Secure the new igniter to the burner tube using the two screws.

Step 17: Take the burner tube back to the oven and feed the igniter connector through the opening.

Step 18: Secure the burner tube to the oven using the two screws.

Step 19: Reposition the flame spreader in the oven.

Step 20: Hold it in place with the screw or the screws.

Step 21: Return the oven’s bottom panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 22: Slide the racks back into the oven.

Step 23: Shut the door.

Step 24: Reconnect the igniter wire connector under the oven.

Step 25: Slide the oven’s bottom drawer back in.

Step 26: Reconnect the oven’s power.

Step 27: Turn the gas supply back on.

Frigidaire Electric Oven Won’t Turn On — How To Fix

If your Frigidaire electric oven won’t turn on, the thermal fuse or bake element is faulty. Below we show you how to replace these two components in a Frigidaire oven.

1. Thermal Fuse

If your Frigidaire oven won’t turn on and the display is blank, the thermal fuse should be replaced. Below we show you how to replace a Frigidaire oven thermal fuse.

Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord.

Step 2: Pull the oven away from the wall and turn it around to access the rear.

Step 3: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the six screws which hold the oven’s lower rear panel in place.

Step 4: Set the panel aside.

Step 5: You should see the thermal fuse close to the terminals of the bake element. Disconnect the wires from the thermal fuse.

Step 6: Take out the screw or screws which hold the thermal fuse in place.

Step 7: Remove the thermal fuse.

Step 8: Get a replacement thermal fuse.

Step 9: Position the fuse on the oven’s rear and secure with the screw or screws.

Step 10: Connect the wires to the thermal fuse.

Step 11: Reposition the oven’s lower panel and hold it in place with the six screws.

Step 12: Plug the oven back in.

2. Bake Element

If your Frigidaire oven display isn’t blank but the oven won’t turn on, follow these steps to replace the bake element…

Step 1: Switch the oven’s circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Turn the oven around.

Step 3: Take out the six screws which hold the oven’s lower back panel using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 4: Set the panel aside.

Step 5: Disconnect the wires connected to the terminals of the bake element.

Step 6: Open the oven door and take out the racks.

Step 7: Take out the two screws which hold the oven’s bottom panel in place.

Step 8: Lift the panel out of the oven.

Step 9: Take out the two screws on the oven’s rear which hold the bake element in place. Do this with a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 10: Take out the other two screws on the bottom of the oven which secure the bake element as well.

Step 11: Remove the bake element and get a new one.

Step 12: Take the element to the oven and hold it in place with the four screws.

Step 13: Reposition the oven’s bottom panel and hold it in place with the two screws.

Step 14: Slide the racks back into the oven and shut the door.

Step 15: Connect the wires to the terminals of the bake element.

Step 16: Reposition the oven’s lower back panel and hold it in place with the six screws.

Step 17: Plug the oven back in.

Step 2: Open the oven door.

Step 8: If there is another screw under the oven’s lower back panel, take it out as well.

Step 10: Disconnect the wires connected to the fan motor.

Step 11: Take out the three screws which hold the fan motor in place.

Step 12: Remove the fan motor and get a replacement.

Step 13: Screw the new fan motor into place.

Step 14: Connect the wires to the fan motor.

Step 15: Return the oven’s back panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 16: Go back to the oven’s front.

Step 17: Slide the fan blade back on the motor shaft.

If your Frigidaire stove top is not turning on, the heating element, igniter, spark module, or element switch is faulty. Below, we show you how to replace these Frigidaire stove components.

1. Heating Element

This component is used in Frigidaire electric ranges. If the stove top of your Frigidaire electric range isn’t working, this is the first component to check. Read this article to replace the heating element of your Frigidaire stove top.

2. Element Switch

If you have replaced the surface heating element and your Frigidaire stove top still won’t turn on, the element switch should be replaced. To replace your Frigidaire oven’s element switch, do the following…

Step 1: Unplug the oven.

Step 2: Take out the six screws which hold the oven’s upper back panel using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 3: Pull off the control knob of the faulty burner.

Step 4: Once you pull off the knob, you should see two screws. Take out the screws using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 5: Get a new element switch.

Step 6: Transfer the wires from the old switch to the new one. You may need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to disconnect the wires.

Step 7: Hold the switch in place with the two screws.

Step 8: Push the control knob back in.

Step 9: Return the upper back panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 10: Plug the oven back in.

3. Igniter

Follow these steps to replace the igniter of your Frigidaire stove burner…

Step 1: Unplug the oven.

Step 2: Turn off the gas supply to the oven.

Step 3: Lift the burner grates off and set them

Step 4: Lift off the burner caps.

Step 5: Also lift up the middle burner base.

Step 6: Take out the screws which hold the remaining burner bases in place using a 3/16th inch nut driver. There should be a total of 8 screws.

Step 7: Remove the burner bases and set them aside.

Step 8: Take out the screws which hold the orifice holders to the stove top using a quarter inch nut driver. There should be a total of 10 screws.

Step 9: Open the oven door.

Step 10: There are two screws under the oven’s front panel which secure it. Take them out using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 11: Pull off the control knobs.

Step 12: Lift the front panel off.

Step 13: Take out the other two screws under the stove top using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 14: Pull the stove top forward.

Step 15: Set the stove top aside.

Step 16: Disconnect the wire from the igniter of the faulty burner using a pair of needle nose pliers.

Step 17: Pull out the igniter from the orifice holder.

Step 18: Get a new igniter.

Step 19: Position the new igniter in the orifice holder.

Step 20: Connect the wire to the igniter.

Step 21: Position the stove top on the oven.

Step 22: Push the stove top back.

Step 23: Return the two screws under the stove top which hold it in place.

Step 24: Reposition the front panel.

Step 25: Secure the panel with the two Philips head screws.

Step 26: Shut the door.

Step 27: Pull each orifice holder up and secure to the stove top with the quarter inch screws.

Step 28: Return the burner bases and the screws which hold them in place.

Step 29: Place the burner caps and grates back on the oven.

Step 30: Turn the oven’s gas supply back on and plug the oven in.

4. Spark Module

Below, we show you how to replace a Frigidaire stove spark module…

Step 1: Shut off the oven’s gas supply.

Step 2: Unplug the oven.

Step 3: Remove the burner grates.

Step 4: Remove the burner caps as well.

Step 5: If there are no screws holding the center burner base in place, lift it off.

Step 6: Take out the screws which hold the burner bases using a 3/16th inch nut driver.

Step 7: Set the burner bases aside.

Step 8: Take out the other screws on the stove top using a quarter inch nut driver. There should be about 10 screws.

Step 9: Pull off the control knobs from the oven’s front panel.

Step 10: Open the oven door.

Step 11: Take out the two screws under the front panel.

Step 12: Remove the panel.

Step 13: Take out the other two screws under the stove top using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 14: Pull the stove top forward and lift it off.

Step 15: The spark module is on the left. Note where each wire connects to on it. If it’s too difficult to remember, take a picture.

Step 16: Take out the screw which holds the spark module to the oven.

Step 17: Remove the mounting bracket from the spark module.

Step 18: Get a new spark module.

Step 19: Position the mounting bracket on the new spark module.

Step 20: Secure the spark module to the oven using the screw.

Step 21: Position the stove top back on the oven.

Step 22: Push the stove top back.

Step 23: Secure the stove top with the screws.

Step 24: Return the front panel and the two Philips head screws which hold it in place.

Step 25: Shut the door.

Step 26: Lift the orifice holders up and return all the screws on the stove top.

Step 27: Return the burner bases.

Step 28: Hold the burner bases in place with the screws.

Step 29: Place the caps back on the burner bases.

Step 30: Return the grates as well.

Step 31: Plug the oven back in.

Step 32: Turn on the oven’s gas supply.

How To Turn On Broiler On Frigidaire Oven

To turn on a Frigidaire oven broiler, follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: Turn on the oven.

Step 2: Press the “Broil” button.

Step 3: Using the arrows, select low, medium,  or high.

Step 4: Press “Start” and leave the oven to preheat.

Step 5: Once the oven is preheated, open the door and place your food inside.
