Frigidaire Stove Top Flame Too High — How To Fix

If your Frigidaire stove flame is too high, follow these steps…

Step 1: Turn the stove top on and turn it to the low setting.

Step 2: Pull off the control knob.

Step 3: Using a pair of channel lock pliers, hold the valve stem in place.

Step 4: Insert a 1/8th inch flat head screwdriver into the stem.

Step 5: Turn the screw in the stem clockwise using the screwdriver in order to reduce the flame. The flame should be 1/4 to 3/8 inches high.

Step 6: After adjusting the flame, push the control knob back onto the stem.

Step 7: Turn the stove top burner off.

Frigidaire Stove Flame Too High — How To Fix

If you just got a Frigidaire oven, and the flame is too high, you need to adjust it. Follow these steps to adjust the flame of your Frigidaire oven…

Step 1: Turn the oven off and unplug the power cord.

Step 2: Open the door and take out the racks.

Step 3: Take out the two screws which hold the bottom panel in place using a flat head screwdriver.

Step 4: Lift the bottom panel out of the oven and set it aside.

Step 5: Take out the nut which holds the burner shield in place.

Step 6: Set the shield aside.

Step 7: The air shutter is close to the oven’s back wall on the burner tube. Loosen the screw on the tube which secures the air shutter.

Step 8: Turn the air shutter clockwise to reduce the oven flame.

Step 9: Turn the oven on and test the flame. The flame shouldn’t be higher than half an inch. If the flame still needs to adjusted, turn the oven off and adjust it further.

Step 10: Tighten the screw which holds the air shutter in place.

Step 11: Return the burner shield and the nut which holds it in place.

Step 12: Reposition the oven’s bottom panel and the two screws which hold it in place.

Step 13: Slide the racks back into the oven and shut the door.

Step 14: Plug the oven back in.

Follow the steps above to adjust your Frigidaire oven flame.

If your Frigidaire oven is not new and the flame is too high, also follow the steps above. If that doesn’t fix the problem, the pressure regulator may be faulty. Below, we have listed the steps you need to follow in order to replace your Frigidaire oven pressure regulator…

Step 1: Turn the oven’s gas supply off.

Step 2: You will see the pressure regulator on the lower left of the oven’s rear. Take out the nut which holds the gas line to the fitting on the pressure regulator. Do this with a pair of channel lock pliers and an adjustable wrench.

Step 3: Using the same two tools, take out the pressure regulator fitting.

Step 4: Using the same pliers and a 9/16th inch wrench, take out the nut which holds the bottom gas tube to the pressure regulator.

Step 5: Take out the nut which secures the other gas tube to the regulator using the pliers and adjustable wrench.

Step 6: Take out the two quarter inch screws which hold the pressure regulator and mounting bracket to the oven’s rear.

Step 7: Take out the other two quarter inch screws which hold the pressure regulator to the mounting bracket.

Step 8: Get a new pressure regulator. Note that if your oven uses liquid propane, you will need to flip the cap on the regulator over.

Step 9: Position the mounting bracket on the regulator.

Step 10: Secure the bracket to the regulator using the screws.

Step 11: Screw the bracket and regulator back to the oven.

Step 12: Tighten the nut which holds the gas tube on the left to the regulator.

Step 13: Tighten the other nut which holds the bottom bottom tube as well.

Step 14: Apply new sealant to the threads of the pressure regulator fitting.

Step 15: Screw the fitting to the pressure regulator.

Step 16: Secure the gas line to the regulator fitting using the nut.

Step 17: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.

Step 18: Turn the oven’s gas supply back on.

Step 3: Pull out the oven’s bottom drawer and set it aside.

Step 4: On the right, you should see the pressure regulator. There is a cap on the regulator. Unscrew the cap.

Step 5: Remove the cap from the small blue cover.

Step 6: Flip the cap over and push it back into the blue cover.

Step 7: Screw the cap back to the regulator.

Step 8: Cover the cap with the plastic blue cover.

Step 9: Return the oven’s bottom drawer.

Step 1: Shut off the oven’s gas supply.

Step 3: Lift off the cap of the faulty burner.

Step 4: Insert a toothpick into the center hole in the burner base.

Step 5: Pull the toothpick in and out to remove anything that may be clogging the burner.

Step 6: Return the burner cap.

Step 7: Also return the burner grate as well.

Step 8: Turn the oven’s gas supply back on.
