To fix this issue, you will need to clean the ribbon cable. To clean the ribbon cable of your GE oven, follow these steps…

Step 1: Unplug the oven.

Step 2: Pull out the oven.

Step 3: Take out the screws which hold the upper back panel of the oven in place.

Step 4: Remove the panel.

Step 5: The ribbon cable will be somewhere on the control board, disconnect it.

Step 6: Clean the ribbon cable with an eraser.

Step 7: Reconnect the ribbon cable.

Step 8: Return the upper back panel and the screws which secure it.

Step 9: Plug the oven back in.

This problem is probably because of a faulty cooling fan motor. To replace the cooling fan motor in a GE oven, follow these steps…

Step 1: Unplug the oven from the outlet.

Step 2: Remove the top panel of the oven by taking out the screws which secure it.

Step 3: Note where the wires go on the cooling fan motor then disconnect them.

Step 4: Take out the screws which hold the fan motor in place.

Step 5: Remove the fan motor.

Step 6: Get a new fan motor and screw it into place.

Step 7: Reconnect the wires to the motor.

Step 8: Return the top panel and hold it in place with the screws.
