GE Oven Handle Loose — How To Fix

If your GE oven handle is loose, you will need to tighten it. To tighten the door handle of your GE oven, do the following…

Step 1: Unplug the oven.

Step 2: Open the door of the oven.

Step 3: On the hinges, you will see locks. Flip the locks to release the door.

Step 4: Lift the oven door up and place it on a sturdy surface lined with a towel.

Step 5: Take out the three screws at the bottom of the oven.

Step 6: Remove the other two at the top.

Step 7: Now you can remove the inner door assembly.

Step 8: Tighten the screws that hold the door handle in place. There should be one screw securing each handle.

Step 9: Return the inner door assembly.

Step 10: Hold the assembly in place with the three screws at the bottom and the other two at the top.

Step 11: Return the door to the oven.

How To Replace A GE Oven Handle

To replace a GE oven handle, follow the steps below…

Step 1: Switch off the circuit breaker or unplug the oven.

Step 2: Open the oven door and flip the hinge locks.

Step 3: Lift the door up and place it on a towel lined, flat and sturdy surface.

Step 4: Take out the two screws at the top of the door assembly and the other three screws at the bottom.

Step 5: Lift out the inner door assembly and set it aside.

Step 6: Take out the two screws which hold the top door trim and the door handle in place.

Step 7: Now take out the two screws that hold the door handle in place.

Step 8: Get a new door handle and screw it to the top door trim.

Step 9: Secure the top door trim to the door assembly with the two screws.

Step 10: Return the inner door assembly.

Step 11: Hold the assembly in place with the three screws at the bottom and the other two at the top.

Step 12: Lift the door up and sit it back on the oven.

Step 13 Flip the door hinge locks.

Step 14: Close the door and plug the oven back in or turn on the circuit breaker.
