If your Hotpoint oven control panel is not working, there are two possible reasons for it. Below we have listed them and how to fix them.

1. Touchpad

In most cases, a faulty touchpad is the reason a Hotpoint oven control panel won’t work. To replace the touchpad of your Hotpoint oven, simply follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: To avoid getting electrocuted, disconnect the power to the oven. You can do this by unplugging the power cord or switching the circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Turn the oven around to access the back panel.

Step 3: Take out the screws around the upper back of the oven which hold the panel.

Step 4: Remove the upper back panel.

Step 5: There are multiple wires connected to the control board so take a picture to remember where each one goes.

Step 6: After taking a picture, disconnect the wires from the control board.

Step 7: Remove the screws holding the control board in place.

Step 8: Remove the control board assembly.

Step 9: Using a heat gun, melt the glue which helps the touchpad stick to the control board. Do not put the heat gun too close to the touchpad or you would damage the control board.
