Hotpoint Oven Error Code F03 — How To Fix

To fix the Hotpoint oven error code F03, hold down the “On/Off” button for about ten seconds then turn the oven back on. If that doesn’t fix the problem, the temperature sensor should be replaced. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace the temperature sensor in a Hotpoint oven…

Step 1: To avoid the risk of electrocution, unplug the oven’s power cord or switch the circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Open the oven door.

Step 3: Remove the racks in the oven and set them aside.

Step 4: Take out the screws which hold the temperature sensor to the oven’s back wall. There will be two screws.

Step 5: Pull out the temperature sensor and disconnect the wire.

Step 6: Get a replacement sensor.

Step 7: Connect the wire to the sensor.

Step 8: Push the sensor in and hold it in place with the two screws.

Step 9: Return the oven racks and close the door.

Step 10: Plug the oven back in or switch the circuit breaker on.

Step 1: Disconnect the power to the oven by unplugging the power cord.

Step 2: Open the door of the oven. If the door doesn’t open, get a cloth hanger and insert it in the opening between the oven and cooktop.

Step 3: Using the hanger hook, pull the door latch to open the door.

Step 4: Remove the screws under the front lip of the cooktop.

Step 5: Lift the cooktop and get someone to hold it up or prop with a sturdy object.

Step 6: Take out the screws which hold the metal panel covering the door latch assembly.

Step 7: Remove the panel and set it aside.

Step 8: Disconnect the wires from the assembly.

Step 9: Remove the screws at the front of the oven which secure the door latch.

Step 10: Lift the door latch out of the oven and get a replacement.

Step 11: Position the new door latch in the oven.

Step 12: Hold the door latch in place with the two screws.

Step 13: Connect the wires to the door latch assembly.

Step 14: Return the metal panel which covers the door latch.

Step 15: Hold the metal panel in place with the screws.

Step 16: Lower the panel and return the screws underneath it which hold it in place.

Step 17: Close the door of the oven.

Step 2: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 3: Take out the screws which hold the oven’s upper rear panel.

Step 4: Remove the panel and set it aside.

Step 7: Take out the screws around the control board which hold it to the oven.

Step 8: Remove the control board assembly and set it on a cloth lined surface.

Step 9: Peel off the touchpad from the control board and get a new one. If the touchpad is difficult to peel off, pry it off carefully with a putty knife.

Step 10: Peel off the backing from the new touchpad.

Step 11: Stick the new touchpad to the control board making sure it’s properly aligned.

Step 12: Take the control board assembly back to the oven and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 13: Reconnect all the wires to the control board making sure each one goes to the right place.

Step 14: Reposition the oven’s upper rear panel.

Step 15: Secure the panel with the screws.

Step 16: Plug the oven’s power cord back in the outlet.

Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.

Step 2: Take out the screws which hold the oven’s lower rear panel in place.

Step 3: Remove the screws which hold the door lock motor in place.

Step 4: Pull the door lock out and get a new one.

Step 5: Position the new door lock on the rod and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 6: Return the panel and the screws which secure it.

Step 7: Plug the oven back in.

Step 4: Pry off the control knobs from the oven and set them aside.

Step 5: Open the door of the oven.

Step 6: Take out the screws underneath the oven’s front panel which hold it in place.

Step 7: Slide the front panel to the left and lower it down.

Step 8: Now take out the screws under the front of the cooktop which secure it.

Step 9: Lift the cooktop.

Step 10: Disconnect the wire harnesses from the cooktop.

Step 11: Set the cooktop aside.

Step 12: Disconnect the wires from the cooling fan.

Step 13: Take out the screws which hold the cooling fan in place. There should be three screws.

Step 14: Remove the cooling fan and get a new one.

Step 15: Position the new fan in the oven.

Step 16: Hold the fan in place with the screws.

Step 17: Reconnect the wires to the fan.

Step 18: Connect the wire harnesses back to the cooktop and lower it.

Step 19: Return the screws which hold the cooktop in place.

Step 20: Position the oven’s front panel.

Step 21: Return the screws underneath the panel which hold it in place.

Step 22: Push the control knobs back in making sure each one goes to the right place.

Step 23: Close the door of the oven.

Step 24: Return the two screws behind the oven which hold the cooktop in place.

Step 25: Plug the oven’s power cord back in.
