Hotpoint Oven Glass Exploded — Solutions
If your Hotpoint oven glass exploded or shattered, it should be replaced. To replace the inner door glass of a Hotpoint oven, follow the steps below…
Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.
Step 2: Open the door of the oven.
Step 3: Using a flat blade screwdriver, flip the lock on each door hinge forward to release the door.
Step 4: Close the door till it can’t go any further.
Step 5: Lift the door up, tilt it in, and remove it from the oven.
Step 6: Place the door on a sturdy surface lined with a towel or cloth.
Step 7: Take out the screws at the bottom of the oven door. There will be three or four screws
Step 8: Take out the two screws at the top of the oven oven door.
Step 9: Lift the inner door assembly off.
Step 10: Take out the screws on each side of the inner door assembly which secure the door hinges.
Step 11: Remove the door hinges and turn the inner door assembly over.
Step 12: Take out the screws which secure the metal panel covering the inner glass.
Step 13: Remove the metal panel.
Step 14: Remove any broken pieces of glass.
Step 15: Get a new inner door glass.
Step 16: Position the glass on the inner door assembly.
Step 17: Return the metal panel and the screws which hold it in place.
Step 18: Turn the inner door assembly over and reposition the door hinges on it.
Step 19: Hold the door hinges in place with the screws.
Step 20: Lift the inner door assembly and position it on the outer one.
Step 21: Hold the door assembly in place with the screws at the bottom.
Step 22: Return the other two screws at the top of the oven door.
Step 23: Lift the oven door assembly and insert the hinges in the slots on the oven.
Step 24: Open the door full and flip the locks backwards.
Step 25: Close the door of the oven.
Step 26: Plug the oven back in.

If the outer glass of your Hotpoint oven shattered and not the inner one, follow the steps listed below to replace it…
Step 1: Unplug the oven from the outlet. You may need to pull the oven away from the wall to do this.
Step 2: Open the oven door and flip the locks on the door hinges towards yourself with a screwdriver. It’s best to use a flat head screwdriver.
Step 3: Push the door forward till it’s slightly open.
Step 4: Grip each side of the oven door and lift it up.
Step 5: Tilt the door in and remove it.
Step 6: Place the door on a cloth lined surface with the front side down.
Step 7: Take out the screws at the top and bottom of the door which secure the two assemblies. There should be two screws at the top and three or four screws at the bottom.
Step 8: Lift the inner door assembly off and set it aside.
Step 9: Take out the screws on each side of the outer door assembly which hold the bottom trim in place. There should be two screws on each side.
Step 10: Separate the bottom trim from the outer door assembly.
Step 11: Carefully remove the remains of the outer glass from the door trim.
Step 12: Get a replacement outer door glass.
Step 13: Carefully push the new glass into the door trim making sure it’s properly sitted on the clips.
Step 14: Return the bottom trim and screws on the sides which hold it in place.
Step 15: Position the inner door on the outer one.
Step 16: Return the screws at the top and bottom of the door.
Step 17: Lift the door off the work surface and position each door hinge in the slot on each side of the oven.
Step 18: Open the oven door completely and flip the hinge locks back.
Step 19: Close the door.
Step 20: Plug the oven back in.

How To Clean Hotpoint Oven Glass Door
To clean your Hotpoint oven glass door, you will need some baking soda and vinegar. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to clean your Hotpoint oven glass door…
Step 1: Turn the oven off.
Step 2: Open the oven door.
Step 3: Mix some baking soda and vinegar to form a paste.
Step 4: Apply the paste on the oven door. Do not apply the paste on the exterior.
Step 5: Leave the paste to sit for a few hours.
Step 6: After a few hours, get spray bottle and pour some vinegar in it.
Step 7: Spray the vinegar on the oven door.
Step 8: Scrub the door with a sponge.
Step 9: Wipe the door with paper towels.
Step 10: Spray some water on the door to rinse.
Step 11: Wipe the door with a damp cloth.
Step 12: Close the oven door.
How To Clean Between Glass On Oven Door Hotpoint
Follow the steps below to clean between your Hotpoint oven glass door…
Step 1: Turn the oven off.
Step 2: To clean between the door glass, you will need to uninstall the door. Open the door of the oven and push the locks on the hinges forward using a flat blade screwdriver.
Step 3: Close the door till it stops.
Step 4: Lift the door off the oven.
Step 5: Place the door face down on a cloth lined surface.
Step 6: There will be 5 or 6 screws which secure the inner door assembly to the outer door assembly, take them out. There should be two screws at the top and three or four at the bottom.
Step 7: Separate the inner door assembly from the outer one.
Step 8: Spray glass cleaner on the outer door glass and wipe with a microfiber cloth.
Step 9: Do the same with the outer door glass.
Step 10: Once the inner and outer door glasses are dry, return them.
Step 11: Hold the door in place with the screws you took out earlier.
Step 12: Lift the door and position the hinges in the openings in each side of the oven.
Step 13: Lower the door and flip the locks back.
Step 14: Close the oven door.
