1. Grill Element

A faulty grill element is the most likely reason your Hotpoint oven grill won’t work. Below we have listed the steps for you to follow in order to replace the grill element in a Hotpoint oven…

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the oven’s power cord or switch the circuit breaker off to avoid the risk of electrocution.

Step 2: Turn the oven around and take out the screws which hold the upper back panel.

Step 3: Lift the upper back panel off and set it aside.

Step 4: Locate the grill element terminals and disconnect the two wires connected to them.

Step 5: Go to the oven’s front.

Step 6: Open the door of the oven and slide out the racks inside.

Step 7: On the top of the oven interior, there are two screws which hold the grill element in place. Take them out.

Step 8: Take out the two screws on the upper back wall of the oven which secure the grill element as well.

Step 9: If your oven’s temperature sensor is located between the grill element terminals, take out the screws which secure it in order to remove the grill element.

Step 10: Remove the grill element from the oven and get a replacement.

Step 11: Take the grill element to the oven and insert the terminals in the back wall of the oven.

Step 12: Return the two screws on the back wall of the oven which secure the grill element.

Step 13: Also return the other screws at the top of the oven.

Step 14: Slide the racks back into the oven.

Step 15: Close the door and go back to the rear of the oven.

Step 16: Connect the wires to the grill element terminals.

Step 17: Return the oven’s back panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 18: Switch your circuit breaker back on or plug the oven back in.
