Self Clean
The self clean feature is probably the easiest way to clean an oven. It is very effective and you don’t need to do as much as you would if you were cleaning the oven manually. However, there are some things to consider before using this feature.
The self clean feature uses extremely high temperatures to burn off the dirt on the walls of the oven. Some components in the oven burn out due to high temperatures. The most common one to burn out is the thermal fuse. If you notice that your oven isn’t working after using the self clean cycle, the thermal fuse has probably burned out.
Also, the oven emits some fumes during the cycle. This fumes aren’t safe for humans to inhale and can be pretty harmful to pets. Since the oven gets very hot during the self clean cycle, you risk getting burned. Using this cycle is not very safe if you have little kids around. But, if you choose to use this feature, you can take precautions to prevent any injuries.
Steam Clean
The steam clean feature is Eco friendly and doesn’t emit dangerous fumes. But let’s be honest, those you have used this feature have confirmed that it’s almost completely useless. It may work for you if your oven is barely dirty. However, if you are someone you doesn’t clean your oven at least once every month, this feature won’t be of much use to you.
Even though the self clean feature could damage a component in the oven, at least it does its job well. The steam clean feature may be safer, but, it’s not anywhere as effective. So, it’s up to you to choose which one to use.
