Step 11: Next, measure the height of your microwave.
Step 12: If your microwave is 17 inches for instance, measure this from the top part of the wall and mark it where the 17 is on your tape.
Step 13: Measure the wall from the right side of the cabinet to the left and mark the middle.
Step 14: Tape the template to the wall making sure that the center of the template aligns with the middle point you marked.
Step 15: On the template, you will see where the bracket is supposed to be. You will also see that the template indicates where you’re supposed to drill into. Drill a hole where the template indicates at the left.
Step 16: On the right side of the template, where it’s indicated, drill a half inch hole.
Step 17: Before removing the template, position the mounting bracket on it and mark the holes you will be using.
Step 18: Remove the template from the wall.
Step 19: Put the screw which comes with the microwave into the hole you marked at the right side of the mounting bracket.

Step 27: Measure and mark the center of the top cabinet.
Step 28: Tape the template on the top cabinet ensuring that the center line of the template is aligned with the place you marked on the top cabinet.
Step 29: Drill the three holes indicated on the template.
Step 30: You will also need to cut out the hole for the power cord to go through.
Step 31: Once you are done with that, remove the template.
Step 32: If you have an air duct above the cabinet, you can redirect the blower. Take out the screws which hold the blower cover in place. It will be at the back of the microwave.
Step 33: Rotate the blower to face up. To do this, remove the screw at the top first. Once you have taken out the screws, rotate the blower.
Step 34: Return the blower cover and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 35: Attach the air damper to the blower cover. This will let the air pass through as you use the microwave.
Step 36: With the help of someone else, lift the microwave up and sit it on the bracket.
Step 37: Pass the power cord through the hole you made for it.
Step 38: Open the door of the cabinet.
