There are Frigidaire gas ovens and electric ovens. First we will show you how to install a Frigidaire electric oven.

How To Install A Frigidaire Electric Oven

To install a Frigidaire electric range oven, follow these steps listed below…

Step 1: Unpack the oven.

Step 2: Ensure the height and width of the cabinet are the recommended measurements. If your cabinet’s current measurements are not the recommended measurements, call a carpenter to adjust it accordingly.

Step 3: Open the oven door.

Step 4: Take out the installation manual and anti tip bracket.

Step 5: Inspect the oven for any damage.

Step 6: Take out the anti tip bracket installation manual.

Step 7: Cut out the two holes on the right side of the template for the bracket. If you want to install the bracket on the left, cut out the two holes on the left side of the template.

Step 8: Position the template on the floor. Place the template either on the right or left depending on where you want to install the bracket.

Step 9: Mark the two holes in the template on the floor.

Step 10: Remove the template and position the holes in the anti tip bracket on the places you marked on the floor.

Step 11: Using the two screws, secure the anti tip bracket to the wall.

Step 12: Go to the oven’s rear.

Step 13: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the screw on the lower back of the oven which secures the terminal block cover.

Step 14: Set the cover aside.

Step 15: Remove the protective wrapping from the power cord wires.

Step 16: Pass the power cord wires through the hole at the bottom of the oven.

Step 17: Using the quarter inch nut driver, take out the three screws on the terminal block.

Step 18: Position the wires on the terminal block and secure them with the three screws. Black should go first on the left, white second, and red third.

Step 19: Position the strain relief bracket on the power cord and tighten the screws.

Step 20: Return the terminal cover and the screw which holds it in place.

Step 21: Plug the oven’s power cord into the outlet.

Step 22: Peel off the pieces of tape on the sides of the oven.

Step 23: Push the oven to the wall.

Step 24: Remove the protective coverings from the oven.

Step 25: If your oven is not leveled, pull out the bottom drawer.

Step 26: Turn the leg on the side of the oven which isn’t leveled. This is to adjust the height.

Step 27: Once you are sure that the oven is leveled, push the bottom drawer back in.

Step 28: You can now use the appliance.

How To Install A Frigidaire Gas Oven

To install a Frigidaire gas oven, follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: Check the recommended measurements for the oven’s cabinet to be. If the cabinet doesn’t meet the recommended requirements, call a carpenter to adjust it.

Step 2: Also check the recommended electrical supply as well.

Step 3: Make sure that the gas supply pipe has a manual shut off valve.

Step 4: A 3/4 inch or 1/2 inch flexible stainless steel supply line should be used in connecting the oven’s pressure regulator to the gas supply pipe if permitted by local codes.

Step 5: Unpack the oven.

Step 6: Open the door of the oven.

Step 7: Remove any racks and any other accessories in the oven.

Step 8: Also take out any other accessories in the bottom drawer.

Step 9: Place a thick blanket on the floor.

Step 10: With the help of an assistant, rest the oven on its rear.

Step 11: Using an adjustable wrench, loosen the oven’s four legs so that the oven aligns with the countertop.

Step 12: Place a piece of cardboard on the floor.

Step 13: Turn the oven back up.

Step 14: Measure the back wall of the cabinet.

Step 15: Mark the center of the wall.

Step 16: Position the bracket on the wall. Make sure that the v notch on the bracket is 9 5/8 inches to the right or left of the center wall marking.

Step 17: Mark the two holes in the bracket to mount the bracket on the floor or wall.

Step 18: Drill through the holes marked on the floor or the wall using a 1/8th inch drill bit.

Step 19: Position the holes on the bracket into the holes in the wall or floor.

Step 20: Secure the bracket to the wall or floor using the two screws provided.

Step 21: Move the oven close to the cabinet.

Step 22: Take out the cardboard under the oven.

Step 23: Get a qualified individual to ensure that the gas pressure isn’t more than 14 inches. Authorized gas company personnel or licensed heating personnel are examples of qualified people.

Step 24: Apply a pipe joint compound to the threads of a non flared adapter.

Step 25: Screw the adapter to the pressure regulator located on the lower rear of the oven.

Step 26: Apply the pipe joint compound on the end of another non flared adapter.

Step 27: Screw the adapter to the gas pipe.

Step 28: Using a pair of channel lock pliers and an adjustable wrench, tighten the nuts on the two adapters.

Step 29: Attach the gas supply line to the gas pipe.

Step 30: Attach the other end of the gas line to the adapter on the pressure regulator.

Step 31: Tighten the nuts on the ends of the gas line with the channel lock pliers and wrench. Make sure you don’t overtighten the nuts.

Step 32: Turn the switch on the oven’s pressure regulator on.

Step 33: Turn on the gas pipe’s shutoff valve.

Step 34: Apply a non corrosive leak detection solution on all the gas connections you made. If there is a leak, the solution will foam and bubble.

Step 35: Tighten any loose connections.

Step 36: Place the caps back on the burner bases.

Step 37: Position the grates on the stove top.

Step 38: Open the oven door and return the racks.

Step 39: Also return anything you took out from the bottom drawer.

Step 40: Plug the oven’s power cord directly to an electrical outlet.

Step 41: Push the oven to the wall.

Step 42: Check if the oven is leveled. If it isn’t leveled, adjust the legs accordingly.

Step 43: Turn the stove top burners on. It should take a couple of seconds for the burners to ignite.

Step 44: Turn the burner to the low setting. If the flame is higher than 3/8ths of an inch, it should be adjusted.

Step 45: With the burner still on low, pull off the control knob.

Step 46: Using a pair of pliers hold the valve stem in place.

Step 47: Insert a 1/8th inch flat blade screwdriver into the valve stem.

Step 48: Turn the screw in the stem to the right to reduce the flame or to the left to increase it.

Step 49: Push the control knob back onto the stem and turn the burner off.

Step 50: Check the operation of the oven by setting it to bake at 350 degrees F. It will take about a minute for the oven to light for the first time.

Step 51: If the flame is more than half an inch, it should be adjusted.

Step 52: Turn off the oven and leave it to cool down.

Step 53: Take out the rack or racks in the oven.

Step 54: Take out the two screws on the oven’s bottom panel using a flat blade screwdriver.

Step 55: Remove the panel.

Step 56: Take out the nut which holds the burner shield.

Step 57: The air shutter is close to the back wall of the oven on the burner tube. Loosen the screw which secures the air shutter.

Step 58: Turn it to the right to reduce the flame or to the left to increase it.

Step 59: Turn on the oven to ensure you have adjusted the flame properly.

Step 60: Turn it off and tighten the screw which secures the air shutter once it has cooled down.

Step 61: Return the burner shield and hold it in place with the screw.

Step 62: Reposition the bottom panel.

Step 63: Return the two screws which hold the panel in place.

Step 64: Slide the oven racks back in and shut the door.

Step 1: Take the broil element to the oven.

Step 2: Connect the wires to the ends of the broil element.

Step 3: If you removed any metal retainers on the oven’s top wall, return them. If not, return the two screws at the top of the oven wall which secures the broil element.

Step 4: Also return the other two screws on the oven’s back wall.

Step 5: Slide the racks back into the oven.
