How To Replace A GE Oven Faceplate

A GE oven faceplate is more commonly known as the touchpad. To replace the touchpad of a GE oven, follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: Unplug the oven or switch off the circuit breaker.

Step 2: Turn the oven around and take out the four screws which hold the upper back panel of the oven in place.

Step 3: Remove the back panel.

Step 4: Take a picture of where the wires go on the control board.

Step 5: Disconnect the wires from the control board.

Step 6: Take out the four screws which secure the control board.

Step 7: Using a putty knife, carefully pry off the touchpad from the control board.

Step 8: Get a new touchpad and stick it to the control board.

Step 9: Screw the control board assembly back and reconnect the wires to the right places on the control board.

Step 10: Reposition the upper back panel of the oven and hold it in place using the screws.

Step 11: Plug the oven back in or turn on the circuit breaker.
