Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the power cord.

Step 2: Turn the oven around.

Step 3: Take out the six quarter inch screws which secure the oven’s upper back panel.

Step 4: Set the panel aside.

Step 5: Go to the oven’s front and take out the two screws under the control panel using a Philips head screwdriver. There will be one screw on each side.

Step 6: Place a towel on the stove top.

Step 7: Lift the control panel assembly and lower it down.

Step 8: Take out the four screws which hold the control board to the control panel using the Philips head screwdriver.

Step 9: Make a note of where each wire goes on the control board then disconnect them.

Step 10: Carefully peel off the overlay from the control board.

Step 11: Get a replacement board.

Step 12: Stick the overlay to the new board.

Step 13: Connect the wires to the control board. Make sure each wire goes to the right place.

To replace a front mounted door lock motor in a Frigidaire oven, follow these steps…

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the power cord.

Step 2: Insert a coat hanger in between the stove top and oven door.

Step 3: Using the coat hanger, pull the door latch back to release the door.

Step 4: Open the oven door.

Step 5: Take out the screws under the stove top which hold it in place. If there are no screws, skip this step and go to the next one.

Step 6: Lift the stove top.

Step 7: If needed, hold the stove top with a thick piece of wood.

Step 8: Take out the screws which hold the metal plate covering the oven’s insulation.

Step 15: Return the metal plate and secure with the screws.

Step 16: Lower the stove top and return the screws which hold it in place.

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Unplug the power cord from the outlet.

Step 3: Take out the screws which hold the oven’s lower back panel in place using a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 4: If there is a screw under the oven’s lower back panel, take it out as well.

Step 5: Lift the panel off and set it aside.

Step 6: Take a picture of the door lock motor to remember where each wire goes.

Step 7: Disconnect the wires from the door lock motor.

Step 8: Remove the two screws which hold the door lock motor in place using a socket or nut driver.

Step 9: Tilt the motor inward to remove it from the rod.

Step 10: To unlock the oven door, push the rod forward.

Step 11: Get a new door lock motor and position it on the rod.

Step 12: Hold the motor in place with the two screws.

Step 13: Connect the wires to the door lock motor. Use the picture you took for reference to ensure you connect the wires to the right places on the door lock motor.

Step 14: Reposition the oven’s back panel.

Step 15: Hold the panel in place with the screws.

Step 16: If you took out a screw under the panel, return it.

Step 17: Plug the oven back in.

Step 18: Return the oven to its usual position.
