Hotpoint Oven Light Won’t Turn Off — How To Fix
If your Hotpoint oven light won’t turn off, it may be because the door isn’t coming in contact with the door switch to signal the light to turn off. Check if the door closes completely. If the door doesn’t close completely, the door seal or hinges may have gone bad.
1. Door Seal
Below we show you how to replace the door seal of your Hotpoint oven…
Step 1: Turn the oven off.
Step 2: Open the oven door.
Step 3: Pull out each corner of the door seal.
Step 4: Remove the door seal and get a new one.
Step 5: Insert the metal clips on the door seal into the holes in the oven.
Step 6: Shut the oven door.

2. Door Hinges
If your oven door still doesn’t close well after replacing the door seal, follow these steps to replace the door hinges…
Step 1: Turn the oven off and open the door.
Step 2: Flip the locks on the hinges towards yourself with a flat blade screwdriver.
Step 3: Close the door till it can’t go any further then lift it off.
Step 4: Set the door on a cloth lined surface.
Step 5: Take out the screws which hold the door. There should be two at the top and three or four at the bottom.
Step 6: Lift the inner door off.
Step 7: Remove the screws which hold the door hinges in place.
Step 8: Remove the door hinges and get new ones.
Step 9: Screw the new door hinges to the oven.
Step 10: Return the inner door to the outer one and hold them together with the screws.
Step 11: Position the door hinges in the slots on the sides of the oven.
Step 12: Lower the door and flip the locks back.
Step 13: Shut the oven door.
