1. Heating Element
There are three different elements used in Indesit ovens. The regular heating element, dual heating element, or fan oven element. One of these elements is used in every Indesit oven. Since the element is the main heating component, the oven won’t work if it stops heating. If your Indesit oven is not working, you should test this component first. Follow these steps to test and replace the regular heating element in your Indesit oven…
Step 1: For safety, make sure to disconnect the oven’s power by unplugging the cord or switching off the breaker.
Step 2: Go to the oven’s rear with a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 3: Use the screwdriver to take out the screws holding the oven’s back panel in place.There should be two screws.
Step 4: Lower the panel and move it to the right.
Step 5: Note where each wire goes on the heating element then disconnect them. The terminals of the heating element are on the lower rear of the oven.
Step 6: Before you remove the element, you need to determine if it’s faulty. You will need a multimeter for this.
Step 7: Get a multimeter and turn its dial to the lowest ohms setting.
Step 8: Touch the probes of the multimeter to the terminals of the element. If the bake element shows a reading of about 50 ohms, it is still good. However, if the multimeter’s display doesn’t change, the element is faulty.
Step 9: Take out the two Philips head screws which hold the baffle plate to the element.
Step 10: Set the baffle plate aside and unscrew the green grounding wire from the element as well.
Step 11: There are three screws on the element which hold it to the oven. Take out the screws using the Philips head screwdriver.
Step 12: Slide the element out of the oven and get a replacement.
Step 13: Slide in the new element and hold it in place using the three screws.
Step 14: Screw the grounding wire to the new element.
Step 15: Return the baffle plate and the two screws which hold it in place.
Step 16: Connect the wires to the right terminals of the heating element.
Step 17: Reposition the back panel and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 18: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.

2. Spark Ignition Switch
The spark ignition switch is used in Indesit gas cookers. If your Indesit gas cooker is not working, the switch is the first thing to check. Below, we have listed the steps you need to follow in order to replace the spark ignition switch in your Indesit gas cooker…
Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.

Step 4: Open the door of your Indesit oven.

Step 6: Pull off all the control knobs.

Step 9: Slide the front panel to the left and lower it down carefully.
Step 10: Note where each wire goes on the front panel assembly by taking a picture.
Step 11: Disconnect the wires from the front panel assembly and set it aside.
Step 12: Get a flat blade screwdriver.
Step 13: Using the flat blade screwdriver, carefully pry off the spark ignition switch from the oven’s front panel. The switch should be on the left.
Step 14: Pull off the spark ignition switch’s button.
Step 15: Test the spark ignition switch for continuity using a multimeter. If the switch doesn’t have continuity, it should be replaced. Get a new one.
Step 16: Position the new switch on the front panel and push it into place.
Step 17: Push the button onto the spark ignition switch.
Step 18: Take the front panel assembly back to the oven.
Step 19: Connect the wires to the front panel assembly making sure that each one goes to the right place.
Step 20: Reposition the front panel assembly on the oven.
Step 21: Return the screws underneath the front panel assembly which hold it in place.
Step 22: Push the control knobs back onto the front panel assembly. Make sure that each one goes to the right place.
Step 23: Shut the door of the oven.
Step 24: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.
Step 25: Turn the oven’s gas supply back on.
Step 26: Push the oven back to the wall.

3. Spark Module
If your Indesit gas cooker is not working but the spark ignition switch isn’t faulty, the spark module should be replaced. Below, we have listed the steps you need to follow in order to replace the spark module in your Indesit oven…
Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall to access the rear.
Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet to avoid the risk of electrocution.
Step 3: Shut off the oven’s gas supply as well.
Step 4: Get a Philips head screwdriver and go to the oven’s rear.
Step 5: Using the Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the terminal block in place. The terminals block is on the lower right side of the oven’s back panel.
Step 6: Take out the Philips head screws which hold the back panel to the oven. There should be about four screws.
Step 7: Push the terminal block through the oven’s rear access panel.
Step 8: Lift the back panel off and set it aside.
Step 9: Mark the wires connected to the spark module to note where each one goes.
Step 10: Disconnect the wires connected to the spark module.
Step 11: Carefully pull the spark module off the mounting clips on the oven’s rear.
Step 12: Get a new spark module for your Indesit gas cooker.
Step 13: Position the new spark module on the oven’s rear.
Step 14: Connect the wires to the new spark module making sure that each one goes to the right place. If you connect the wires to the wrong places, the spark module won’t work.
Step 15: Take the back panel to the oven.
Step 16: Position the terminal block on the back panel.
Step 17: Reposition the back panel and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 18: Screw the terminal block back to the oven’s back panel.
Step 19: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.
Step 20: Turn on the oven’s gas supply.
Step 21: Push the oven back to the wall.

4. Wires
If your Indesit oven is not working but the components above aren’t faulty, check the wires next. Inspect the wire connected to the ignition switch and spark module, or heating element. Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall in order to access the rear.
Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.
Step 3: Get a Torx head screwdriver.
Step 4: Go to the oven’s rear.
Step 5: Using the Torx head screwdriver, take out the two screws on the rear of the stove top which hold it in place.
Step 6: Open the door of the oven and get a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 7: Use the Philips head screwdriver to take out the two screws underneath the oven’s front panel which hold it in place.
Step 8: Lift the stove top and carefully lower it down.
Step 9: Take out the two screws underneath the stove top which hold it in place.

Step 12: Spread a cloth on a sturdy surface.

Step 17: Use a flat head screwdriver to unscrew the wires from the hotplate.

1. Spark Electrode
Follow the steps below to replace the spark electrode in your Indesit stove top…
Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet and turn off the gas supply.
Step 2: Note where each wire goes on the oven’s front panel.
Step 3: Pull the control knobs off and get a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 4: Use the Philips head screwdriver to take out the screws underneath the oven’s front panel.
Step 5: Lift the panel up and lower it down.
Step 6: Remove all the burner assemblies from the stove top and set them aside.
Step 7: Take out the screws which hold the orifice holders to the stove top.
Step 8: Next, take out the remaining screws which hold the stove top in place. There are two screws at the back and two at the front.

Step 10: Release the clip from the electrode you want to replace.
