Kenmore Oven Control Board Not Working — How To Fix
If your Kenmore oven control board is not working, you should try resetting it first. We will show you how to replace the control board in your Kenmore electric range and gas range. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace the your electric Kenmore oven control board…
Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord for safety.
Step 3: Pull off the control knobs from the oven’s control panel making sure to note where each one goes.
Step 4: Remove the control panel retainers to lift it off. The retainers are over the control knob stems.
Step 5: Lift the control panel.
Step 6: Note where each wire goes on the control board. You can do this by taking a picture.
Step 7: Disconnect the wires from the control board.
Step 8: Now, take out the Philips head screws which hold the control board to the panel.
Step 9: Get a new control board.
Step 10: Position the board on the panel and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 11: Connect the wires to the board making sure that each wire goes to the right place.
Step 12: Reposition the control panel on the oven.
Step 13: Return the retainers which hold the control panel in place.
Step 14: Push the control knobs back into place.

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall to access the rear.
Step 2: Disconnect the oven’s power cord from the outlet.
Step 3: Shut off the oven’s gas supply.
Step 4: Use a Philips head screwdriver to take out the screws which hold the oven’s upper back panel in place.
Step 5: Lift the panel off and set it aside.
Step 6: Disconnect the ribbon cable from the control board.
Step 7: Using a pair of pliers, twist the tabs which secure the control board to the oven.
Step 8: Remove the control board and get a new one.
Step 9: Position the new board on the oven and twist the tabs to hold it in place.
Step 10: Reconnect the ribbon cable to the board.
Step 11: Reposition the oven’s upper back panel.
Step 12: Hold the panel in place with the screws.
Step 13: Plug the oven back in.
Step 14: Turn on the gas supply and return the oven to its usual position.

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall to access the rear.
Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord.
Step 3: Shut off the oven’s gas supply if your oven uses gas.
Step 4: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the stove’s upper back panel.
Step 5: Lift the panel off and set it aside.
Step 6: Disconnect the wire or wires connected to the control board.
Step 7: Using the Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the control board to the oven.
Step 8: Get a heat gun.
Step 9: Using the heat gun, melt the glue which helps the overlay stick to the board. Do not place the heat gun too close to the board as you do this.
Step 10: Carefully pry off the overlay from the control board using a putty knife.
Step 11: Get a new overlay.
Step 12: Peel off the backing of the new overlay.
Step 13: Align the overlay on the control board and stick it into place.
Step 14: Secure the control board to the oven using the Philips head screws.
Step 15: Reconnect the wire or wires to the control board.
Step 16: Reposition the oven’s upper rear panel.
Step 17: Secure the panel with the screws.
Step 18: Plug the oven’s power cord back in.
Step 19: Turn on the gas supply if you turned it off before.
Step 20: Return the oven to its usual position.
