Step 1: Disconnect the power to the oven.
Step 2: Open the door and remove the racks.
Step 3: Pull the oven’s bottom panel forward and remove it.
Step 4: Use a Philips head screwdriver to take out the screws on the oven’s back wall which hold the bake element in place.
Step 5: Remove the bracket and pull the element forward.
Step 6: Disconnect the wires from the element using a pair of needle nose pliers.
Step 7: Get a new element and connect the wires to the terminals.
Step 8: Reposition the bracket on the element and secure it to the oven with the screws.
Step 9: Return the oven’s bottom panel.
Step 10: Slide the racks back into the oven and shut the door.

Gas Kenmore Oven Preheating Slowly — How To Fix
If your gas Kenmore oven is preheating slowly, the igniter or spark electrode has started to fail. Igniters are used in most Kenmore gas ovens while spark electrodes are used in some other models. We will show you how to replace the spark electrode and igniter. To replace the igniter in your Kenmore oven, do the following…
Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord and shut off the gas supply.
Step 2: Open the oven door and remove the racks.
Step 3: Take out the screws on the bottom of the oven with a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 4: Lift the bottom panel out of the oven.
Step 5: Remove the flame spreader by taking out the nut which holds it in place.
Step 6: Pull the drawer forward and disconnect the wires from the safety valve.
Step 7: Use a quarter inch nut driver to take out the screw which holds the igniter wire cover on the left side of the oven.
Step 8: Slide the cover aside and disconnect the wire plug.
Step 9: Unscrew the igniter from the right side of the burner tube.
Step 10: Get a new igniter and screw it back to the burner tube.
Step 11: Reconnect the wire plug to the oven and reposition the cover.
Step 12: Screw the cover back into place and connect the wires to the safety valve.
Step 13: Push the bottom drawer back.
Step 14: Return the flame spreader and secure with the nut.
Step 15: Reposition the bottom panel and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 16: Slide the racks back into the oven and shut the door.

Step 1: Disconnect the oven’s power and shut off the gas supply.
Step 2: Open the door of the oven and remove all the racks.
Step 3: Remove the two screws which hold the bottom panel using a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 4: Lift the bottom panel out of the oven.
Step 5: Take out the screws which hold the flame spreader.
Step 6: Remove the flame spreader and take out the screws which hold the burner tube.
Step 7: Lift the burner tube and disconnect the wire from the spark electrode.
Step 8: Take out the screw which holds the spark electrode to the tube.
Step 9: Get a new spark electrode and screw it to the burner tube.
Step 10: Connect the wire to the spark electrode.
Step 11: Screw the burner tube back to the oven and return the flame spreader.
Step 12: Hold the flame spreader in place with the screws.
Step 13: Return the bottom panel and the screws which hold it in place.
Step 14: Slide the racks back into the oven and shut the door.
Step 15: Plug the oven back in and turn the gas supply on.
