Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 2: Disconnect the power to the oven by unplugging the power cord.
Step 3: Open the door of the oven.
Step 4: Flip the locks on the door hinges forward using a flat blade screwdriver.
Step 5: Close the door till you feel it stop.
Step 6: Grip the sides of the door and lift it off.
Step 7: Set the door on a cloth lined surface.
Step 8: Slide out the racks in the oven and set them aside.
Step 9: The sensor is on the upper left corner of the oven’s back wall. Take out the two screws which hold it in place using a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 10: Pull the sensor out and disconnect the wire plug.
Step 11: Make sure the wire plug doesn’t fall through the oven’s back wall.
Step 12: Get a new sensor.
Step 13: Take the sensor to the oven and connect the wire plug to it.
Step 14: Push the sensor into the oven.
Step 15: Secure the sensor to the oven using the two Philips head screws.
Step 16: Slide the racks back into the oven.
Step 17: Lift the oven door.
Step 18: Insert the door hinges into the slots in the sides of the oven.
Step 19: Open the door fully and flip the hinge locks back.
Step 20: Shut the oven door.
Step 21: Plug the oven’s power cord back in.
Step 22: Push the oven back to its usual position.

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet to avoid the risk of electrocution.
Step 3: Shut off the oven’s gas supply.
Step 4: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the oven’s back panel in place.
Step 5: Lift the panel off and set it aside.
Step 6: The temperature is on the right side of the oven’s rear. Disconnect the wire plug from the temperature sensor.
Step 7: Take out the two screws which hold the temperature sensor in place using the Philips head screwdriver.
Step 8: Pull the sensor out.

How To Test Kenmore Oven Temperature Sensor

Step 1: First, take the sensor out of the oven. If you don’t know how to do this, read the section above this one.
Step 2: Get a multimeter.
Step 3: Turn the multimeter dial to the lowest ohms setting.
Step 4: If you are using an analog multimeter, calibrate it. Do this by touching the two probes together as you adjust the needle on the multimeter’s display to 0. If you are using a digital multimeter, skip this step.
Step 5: Touch each multimeter probe to the pins in the temperature sensor wire connector.
Step 6: Look at the multimeter’s display. The multimeter should show a reading anywhere from 1000 to 1100 ohms of resistance at room temperature. If the reading is far off from this, it is faulty. Get a new temperature sensor.

Step 1: Press the “Broil” button.

Step 11: Get new door hinges and screw them to the inner door.
Step 12: Position the inner door on the outer door and secure with the screws.
Step 13: Return the top trim and the screws which hold it in place.
Step 14: Return the door handle as well and secure it with the screws.
Step 15: Position the door hinges into the slots in the sides of the oven and open the door fully.
