Kitchenaid Oven Control Panel Not Working — How To Fix

If your Kitchenaid oven control panel is not working, it should be replaced. We will show you how to replace the control panel of your Kitchenaid double wall oven and your Kitchenaid range oven. To replace the control panel of your Kitchenaid double wall oven, follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: Locate the oven’s circuit breaker.

Step 2: Switch the circuit breaker off.

Step 3: Open the doors of the two ovens.

Step 4: Take out the four screws on the sides of the oven frame using a Philips head screwdriver. There are two screws on each side.

Step 5: Pull out the oven to about four inches.

Step 6: Using a quarter inch nut driver or a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screw on each side of the control panel which holds the rectangular brackets in place.

Step 7: Using the same screwdriver, take out the four screws which hold the control panel to the oven. There are two screws on each side.

Step 8: Lift the control panel up and lower it down.

Step 9: Disconnect the wire plug and green grounding wire from the control panel.

Step 10: Remove the control panel and get a new one.

Step 11: Take the control panel to the oven.

Step 12: Connect the wire plug and the green grounding wire to the control panel.

Step 13: Position the panel on the oven and hold it in place with the four screws.

Step 14: Return the brackets on the sides of the control panel.

Step 15: Secure the brackets to the oven with the screws.

Step 16: Push the oven back into the cabinet and secure the sides using the four screws.

Step 17: Shut the oven doors.

Step 18: Switch the circuit breaker back on.

Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.

Step 2: If your oven is a gas one, shut off the gas supply as well.

Step 3: Open the door of the oven.

Step 4: Take out the two screws under the control panel which hold its metal cover in place.

Step 5: Remove the metal cover and take out the other two screws under the control panel which secure it.

Step 6: Lift the control panel up and lower it down.

Step 7: Disconnect the wire plug and ribbon cable from the control panel.

Step 8: Set the control panel on a cloth lined surface.

Step 9: Take out the five screws which hold the display board protective cover to the control panel.

Step 10: Lift the protective cover off and set it aside.

Step 11: Take out the four screws which hold the two metal caps on the two sides of the control panel.

Step 12: Get a new control panel.

Step 13: Position the two metal caps on the control panel and secure them with the four screws.

Step 14: Return the display board protective cover.

Step 15: Secure the display board cover to the oven with the screws.

Step 16: Take the control panel back to the oven and connect the wire plug and ribbon cable back to it.

Step 17: Position the control panel on the oven.

Step 18: Secure the panel to the oven with the two screws.

Step 19: Return the metal cover under the control panel.

Step 20: Hold the metal cover in place with the two screws.

Step 21: Close the oven door.

Step 22: Plug the oven back in.

Step 1: Switch your oven’s circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Leave the breaker off for 10 minutes.

Step 3: After 10 minutes switch the circuit breaker back on.

If your Kitchenaid control board is not working, it should be replaced. We will walk you through the steps you need to follow in order to replace the control board in a Kitchenaid double wall oven and a Kitchenaid range oven. Below we show you how to replace the control board in a Kitchenaid double wall oven…

Step 1: Locate your oven’s circuit breaker.

Step 2: Switch the circuit breaker off.

Step 3: Open the doors of the upper and lower oven.

Step 4: Slide out the racks in the oven and set them aside.

Step 5: Flip the lock on each hinge of the upper oven door down.

Step 6: Close the door partially.

Step 7: Grip the sides of the oven door and lift it off.

Step 8: Set the door aside on a cloth lined surface.

Step 9: Do the same with the lower oven door.

Step 10: Take out the screws which hold the oven’s bottom vent in place using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 11: Take out the four screws which hold the sides of the oven to the cabinet using the the Philips head screwdriver.

Step 12: With the help of an assistant, lift the oven out of the cabinet.

Step 13: Set the oven on a piece of cardboard so that it doesn’t damage the floor.

Step 14: Take out the eight screws which hold the upper front panel of the oven. There are screws on the two sides.

Step 15: Lift the panel up and set it aside.

Step 16: The control board of the upper oven is on the right and the board for the lower oven is on the left when you stand at the front of the oven. Note where each wire goes on the control board or take a picture to make it easier.

Step 17: Take out the screws which hold the control board to the oven.

Step 18: Remove the control board.

Step 19: Get a new control board.

Step 20: Position the new control board on the oven and secure it with the screws.

Step 21: Connect the wires to the right places on the board using the picture you took for reference.

Step 22: Reposition the oven’s upper back panel.

Step 23: Secure the upper back panel with the screws.

Step 24: Lift the oven up and push it back into the cabinet.

Step 25: Secure the sides of the oven to the cabinet using the screws.

Step 26: Return the oven’s bottom vent and secure it with the screws.

Step 27: Slide the racks back into the oven.

Step 28: Lift up the oven door.

Step 29: Insert the door hinges into the slots on the sides of the oven.

Step 30: Open the door completely.

Step 31: Flip the locks on the door hinges back.

Step 32: Do the same with the lower oven door.

Step 33: Shut the oven doors.

Step 34: Switch the oven’s circuit breaker back on.

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 2: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.

Step 3: Open the oven door.

Step 4: Use a Philips head screwdriver to take out the two screws under the control panel which hold the metal cover.

Step 5: Set the metal cover aside.

Step 6: Take out the other two screws which hold the control panel to the oven.

Step 7: Lift the panel.

Step 8: Take a picture of the control panel to note where each wire goes on it.

Step 9: Disconnect the wires connected to the control panel.

Step 10: Set the control panel aside.

Step 11: Take out the three screws at the front of the stove top on the metal brackets.

Step 12: Go to the oven’s rear.

Step 13: Take out the other two screws on the rear corners of the stove top which secure it to the oven.

Step 14: Carefully lift the stove top.

Step 15: Set the stove top aside.

Step 16: Take out the four screws which hold the stove elements’ support panel to the oven.

Step 17: Take out the two screws which hold the center front bracket of the oven.

Step 18: Move the support panel back a bit.

Step 19: Take out the screws which hold the control board in place.

Step 20: Lift the control board out.

Step 21: Take a picture of the wires on the control board.

Step 22: Disconnect the wires connected to the control board.

Step 23: Get a new control board.

Step 24: Transfer the ribbon cable from the old control board to the new one.

Step 25: Also transfer the mounting plate as well.

Step 26: Take the control board to the oven.

Step 27: Connect the wires to the control board. Make sure each wire goes to the right place on the board.

Step 28: Position the board on the oven and secure it with the screws.

Step 29: Return the elements’ support panel to its usual position.

Step 30: Return the center front bracket and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 31: Secure the support panel using the four screws.

Step 32: Reposition the stove top and return the screws at the front and rear which hold it in place.

Step 33: Take the control panel back to the oven.

Step 34: Connect the wires back to the control panel.

Step 35: Secure the control panel to the oven with the two screws.

Step 36: Return the metal cover and the screws that hold it in place.

Step 37: Close the oven door.

Step 38: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.
