LG Oven Knobs Melting — Cause And Solution
If your LG oven knobs are melting, it’s because the heat in the oven is escaping. This could be the cause of a faulty door gasket. To replace the door gasket in an LG oven, follow the steps listed below…
Step 1: Turn off the oven and unplug the power cord.
Step 2: Open the door of the oven.
Step 3: Pull out the ends of the gasket from the slots.
Step 4: Release the gasket from the oven by pulling out the tabs on each side.
Step 5: Get a new door gasket.
Step 6: Insert the gasket tabs into the holes.
Step 7: Push the ends of the door gasket into the slots using a flat head screwdriver.

Door Hinge
The door hinge may be the reason heat is escaping from your oven and melting your LG oven knobs. Follow the steps below to replace the door hinge in your LG oven…
Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.
Step 2: Open the door of the oven.
Step 3: Flip the hinge clips forward.
Step 4: Close the door till you feel the locks engage.
Step 5: Grip each side of the oven door and lift it off.
Step 6: Set the door on a towel lined surface.
Step 7: Take out the 7 screws which secure the inner door assembly to the outer door assembly. There will be screws on the top and bottom of the door.
Step 8: Lift the inner door assembly off and set it aside.
Step 9: Take out the screws which secure the door hinges to the inner door assembly.
Step 10: Lift the inner door assembly and remove the door hinges.
Step 11: Get replacement door hinges and position them on the door.
Step 12: Hold the door hinges in place using the screws.
Step 13: Position the inner door assembly back on the outer door assembly.
Step 14: Return the 7 screws which secure the door.
Step 15: Lift the door up and position the hinges in the slots on the sides of the oven.
Step 16: Lower the door and flip the hinge clips back.
Step 17: Close the oven door.
Step 18: Plug the oven back in.
