If your LG oven turns on by itself, the door switch may be faulty. While it is best to call a technician to identify the problem, you can try replacing the door switch in an LG oven yourself. To replace an LG oven door switch, do the following…

Step 1: Switch off your circuit breaker or unplug the oven from the outlet.

Step 2: Remove the grates on your oven cooktop.

Step 3: Remove the burner caps as well.

Step 4: Lift off the bases of the burners.

Step 5: Take out the fifteen screws securing the cooktop using a screwdriver.

Step 6: Insert a putty knife into the cooktop and lift it up from the clips.

Step 7: Remove the cooktop.

Step 8: Open the door of the oven.

Step 9: Release the tabs securing the door switch at the left side of the oven using a flat head screwdriver.

Step 10: Disconnect the wires from the door switch terminals.

Step 11: Get a new door switch.

Step 12: Reconnect the wires to the door switch terminals.

Step 13: Push the door switch into place.

Step 14: Close the oven door.

Step 15: Reposition the oven cooktop and push it down.

Step 16: Return the fifteen screws you removed earlier on.

Step 17: Reposition the burner bases.

Step 18: Return the burner caps.

Step 19: Also return the grates.

Step 20: Plug the oven back in.
