The Light Bulb
The most likely reason your Magic Chef microwave light is not working may be because of a bad light bulb. To replace the light bulb in a Magic Chef microwave, do the following…
Step 1: Turn off the microwave and unplug it from the outlet.
Step 2: Take out the screws at the top of the microwave front vent.
Step 3: Gently pull out the front vent.
Step 4: Inside the opening, you will see the light cover held by one screw. Remove the screw.
Step 5: Carefully remove the light cover.
Step 6: Remove the tape which holds the light bulb in place.
Step 7: Unscrew the light bulb.
Step 8: Get a new bulb. Make sure that it is the same kind as the one you removed.
Step 9: Screw the new light bulb into place.
Step 10: Reposition the light cover and hold it in place with the screw.
Step 11: Return the front vent and the screws at the top.
Step 12: Plug the microwave back in.
