Step 1: Open the door of the oven.
Step 2: Place your food on the rack.
Step 3: Shut the door of the oven.
Step 4: Turn the oven control knob to select “Broil”. If your oven doesn’t have a control knob, press the “Broil” button.
Step 5: Select your desired temperature using the temperature control knob, arrows, or “+” and “-” buttons.
Step 6: Press “Start”.
Step 7: While broiling, leave the oven door open to about four inches.
Step 8: After broiling, turn the oven off. Do this by turning the control knobs to the “off” position or pressing the “Cancel” button.
Step 9: Open the oven door and take out your food.
Step 10: Shut the door of the oven.

Magic Chef Oven Broiler Not Working — How To Fix
Below, we have listed the possible reasons why your Magic Chef electric or gas oven broiler won’t work.
1. Broil Element
If your electric Magic Chef oven broiler won’t work, the broil element is most likely faulty. Below, we have listed the steps you need to follow in order to replace your Magic Chef oven broil element…
Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 2: Disconnect the power to the oven by switching the circuit breaker off or unplugging the power cord.
Step 3: Go to the oven’s rear and use a Philips head screwdriver to take out the screws holding the back panel in place.
Step 4: Set the back panel aside and disconnect the wires from the terminals of the broil element.
Step 5: Get a multimeter.
Step 6: Test the broil element using a multimeter. If the multimeter doesn’t show any reading, the broil element is faulty and should be replaced.
Step 7: Open the oven door slightly.
Step 8: Grip the sides of the door and lift it off.
Step 9: Set the door on a cloth lined surface and slide out the racks in the oven.
Step 10: Using the Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws at the top of the oven which hold the broil element’s bracket in place.
Step 11: Remove the other screws on the upper back wall which hold the broil element in place as well.
Step 12: Pull the broil element out.
Step 13: Get a new Magic Chef oven broil element.
Step 14: Position the element in the oven and return the two screws on the back wall which hold it in place.
Step 15: Also return the other screws on the top of the oven interior.
Step 16: Slide the racks back into the oven.
Step 17: Lift the door and position the bottom on the hinges.
Step 18: Open the door fully then shut it.
Step 19: Go to the oven’s rear and reconnect the wires to the terminals of the broil element.
Step 20: Reposition the oven’s back panel and hold it in place with the Philips head screws.
Step 21: Reconnect the power to the oven.
Step 22: Push the oven back to the wall.

2. Burnt Wires
If your Magic Chef oven broiler won’t work after replacing the broil element, you should check the wires connected to it. Remove the oven’s rear access panel and inspect the wires connected to the terminals of the broil element. If the wires appear burnt or damaged, contact a technician to fix them.
3. Control Board
A faulty control board is the final possible reason why your electric Magic Chef oven broiler won’t work. The control board sends voltage to the broil element. So, if the board fails, the broil element won’t receive the voltage it requires to function.
