2. Light Socket

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 2: Disconnect the power to the oven by unplugging the power cord.
Step 3: Go to the oven’s rear.
Step 4: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the oven’s back panel in place.
Step 5: Lift the access panel off and set it aside.
Step 6: Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the light socket.

Step 8: Test the light socket for continuity using the multimeter. If the multimeter doesn’t show a reading, the light socket is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 13: Using a flat blade screwdriver, bend the tabs on the light socket which secure it to the oven.
Step 14: While doing this, have someone push the light socket out from the back.
Step 15: Get a new Magic Chef oven light socket.
Step 16: Position the light socket in the oven and snap it into place.
Step 17: Screw the light bulb back into the socket.
Step 18: Return the light bulb cover as well.
Step 19: Slide the racks back into the oven.

2. Spark Module
If your Magic Chef burner still won’t light after replacing the igniter, the spark module should be replaced. Below, we have listed the steps you need to follow in order to replace your Magic Chef oven spark module…
Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 2: For safety, disconnect the power to the oven. Do this by unplugging the power cord from the outlet or switching the circuit breaker off.
Step 3: Shut off the oven’s gas supply as well.
Step 4: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws holding the oven’s upper access panel in place.
Step 5: Lift the panel off and set it aside.
Step 6: Now, take out the screws which hold the spark module cover in place. The cover should be on the right or left.
Step 7: Lift the cover off and set it aside.
Step 8: Using a short Philips head screwdriver, take out the two screws which hold the spark module to the oven.
Step 9: Pull the spark module out of the oven’s opening.
Step 10: Get a new spark module.
Step 11: Disconnect the wires from the old spark module and connect them to the new one. Make sure that each wire goes to the right place or the spark module won’t work.
Step 12: Reposition the spark module in the oven’s opening.
Step 13: Hold the spark module in place with the two screws.
Step 14: Return the spark module’s cover
Step 15: Hold the cover in place with the screws.
Step 16: Reposition the oven’s back panel.
Step 17: Secure the panel with the screws.
Step 18: Reconnect the power to the oven by plugging the power cord back in or switching the circuit breaker on.
Step 19: Turn the oven’s gas supply on.
Step 20: Push the oven back to its usual position.
