How to Change Maytag Microwave Light Bulb
To change the interior Maytag microwave light bulb, do the following…
Step 1: Before starting the repair, turn off and unplug the microwave.
Step 2: Take out the screws on the top of the front grille which hold it in place.
Step 3: Remove the front grille.
Step 4: If you look inside the opening, there is a metal cover, use a screwdriver to lift it up.
Step 5: Pull the cover out.
Step 6: Unscrew the bad light bulb and get a new one.
Step 7: Screw the new light bulb into place.
Step 8: Return the metal cover.
Step 9: Push the grille back in and secure it with the screws.
Step 10: Plug the microwave back in.

To replace the exterior Maytag microwave light bulb, do the following…
Step 1: Unplug the microwave
Step 2: Open the microwave door and take out the glass tray and support.
Step 3: Place the microwave on its back.
Step 4: Take out the screw which holds the microwave light cover in place.
Step 5: Remove the light cover.
Step 6: Unscrew the bulb and get a new one.
Step 7: Screw the new bulb into place.
Step 8: Return the light cover and secure it with the screw.
Step 9: Turn the microwave back to its upright position.
Step 10: Open the microwave door and return both the glass tray and support.
Step 11: Plug the microwave back in.

Maytag Microwave Light Won’t Turn Off
To test and replace the door switches in a Maytag microwave, follow these steps…
Step 1: Unplug the microwave.
Step 2: Take out the screws securing the front grille.
Step 3: Remove the grille.
Step 4: Take out the screw that secures the control panel.
Step 5: Lift the control panel up then out.
Step 6: Use a screwdriver to take out the screw securing the door switch holder to the frame.
Step 7: Use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the interlock spring.
Step 8: Take out the switch from the holder.
Step 9: To test the door switch, press the small button on it. If the button is loose, it’s faulty. Do this same test with the other door switches.
Step 10: Disconnect the wires from the bad switch
Step 11: Get a new door switch and connect the wires to it.
Step 12: Place it in the holder
Step 13: Reposition the interlock spring on the door switch.
Step 14: Push the control panel back in and secure with the screw.
Step 15: Return the front grille and the screws.
Step 16: Plug the microwave in.
