Maytag Microwave Turntable [Issues & Solutions]

Maytag Microwave Turntable Not Turning

If your Maytag microwave turntable is not turning or makes noise, it could be the result of a faulty motor, glass tray support, or coupler. So, let us get into how to check and replace these components…

The Turntable Motor

To replace the turntable motor in a Maytag microwave, follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: First, turn off the microwave and unplug it from the outlet.

Step 2: Open the microwave door and take out the glass tray and support.

Step 3: Turn the microwave and lie it on its back.

Step 4: Using a screwdriver, remove all the screws that secure the bottom panel to the microwave.

Step 5: Gently pull the bottom panel.

Step 6: Disconnect the wires connected to the turntable motor.

Step 7: Disconnect the other plug on the right.

Step 8: Remove the bottom panel and set it aside.

Step 9: Take out the two screws securing the turntable motor using a screwdriver.

Step 10: Remove the turntable motor and take out the spacer from the shaft.

Step 11: Slide the spacer on the shaft of the new turntable motor. It is recommended to get a new spacer for the turntable motor.

Step 12: Install the new motor and hold it in place with the two screws.

Step 13: Return the bottom panel and connect the wires to the turntable motor.

Step 14: Also reconnect the plug at the right side.

Step 15: Secure all the sides of the bottom panel with the screws.

Step 16: Turn the microwave back to its upright position.

Step 17: Return the turntable and support to the microwave.

Step 18: Plug the microwave back in.

The Coupler

Step 1: Unplug the microwave.

Step 4: If the coupler is damaged, get a new one.

Step 5: Push the new coupler into the hole and return the glass tray and support.

The Glass Tray Support
