Step 10: Get a multimeter and turn it to the ohms setting.

Step 11: Touch the multimeter probes to the terminals of the broil element. If there is no continuity, the broil element should be replaced.

Step 12: Get a new broil element and slide the mounting bracket on it.

Step 13: Connect the wires to the broil element.

Step 14: Return the screws on the top and back walls of the oven which hold the broil element in place.

Step 15: Return the oven racks.

Step 16: Lift the oven door and insert the hinges into the slots on the sides of the oven frame.

Step 17: Open the door fully and flip the hinge locks back.

Step 18: Shut the door and plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.

2. Broil Igniter

If your Maytag oven broiler won’t work and it is a gas one, this is the first component you should replace. Below, we show you how to replace a Maytag oven broil igniter…

Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet.

Step 2: Turn off the oven’s gas supply.

Step 3: Open the oven door and slide out the racks.

Step 4: There are locks on the door hinges, flip them towards yourself using a flathead screwdriver.

Step 5: Close the door till it stops.

Step 6: Lift the oven door off and set it on a towel lined surface.

Step 7: Take out the two screws which hold the oven’s bottom panel using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 8: Take out the nut which holds the flame spreader and remove it.

Step 9: Using a 5/16th inch nut driver, take out the two screws which hold the igniter to the burner tube.

Step 10: Pull out the igniter and disconnect the wire plug.

Step 11: Get a new igniter.

Step 12: Connect the wire plug.

Step 13: Secure the igniter to the burner tube with the screws.

Step 14: Return the flame spreader and the nut which holds it in place.

Step 15: Align the bottom panel in the oven and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 16: Slide the oven racks back in.

Step 17: Lift the oven door and insert the hinges into the slots on the sides of the oven.

Step 18: Open the door fully and flip the hinge locks back.

Step 19: Shut the oven door.

Step 20: Plug the oven’s power cord back in and turn on the gas supply.

3. Control Board
