1. Door Latch

Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall and unplug the power cord.

Step 2: Lift the stove top.

Step 3: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the metal cover panel at the top of the oven.

Step 4: Lift the panel up to gain access to the door latch.

Step 5: Open the door of the oven.

Step 6: Take out the two screws at the front of the oven frame which hold the door latch in place.

Step 7: Remove the door latch and unhook the rod from it.

Step 8: Get a new door latch.

Step 9: Hook the new rod onto the door latch.

Step 10: Position the latch in the oven and hold it in place with the two screws.

Step 14: Plug the oven’s power cord back in.

Step 2: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the upper and lower back panels of the oven in place.

Step 3: Set the panels aside.

Step 4: Note where each wire goes on the door lock assembly.

Step 5: Disconnect the wires.

Step 6: Take out the screws which hold the door lock assembly to the oven’s rear.

Step 7: Remove the door lock assembly from the rod.

Step 8: Push the rod forward to unlock the door.

Step 9: Get a new door lock and position it on the rod.

Step 10: Secure the lock assembly to the oven using the screws.

Step 11: Reconnect the wires to the right places on the door lock assembly.

Step 12: Reposition the oven’s upper and lower back panels.

Step 13: Hold the panels in place with the screws.

Step 14: Plug the oven back in or switch the circuit breaker back on.
