1. Cooling Fan

If the cooling fan in an oven fails, the oven will overheat and shut off by itself. Follow the steps listed below to test and replace the cooling fan in a Maytag oven…

Step 1: Turn off the oven’s circuit breaker for safety.

Step 2: Open the oven door.

Step 3: There is a lock on each door hinge. Flip the locks forward to release the door.

Step 4: Close the door till it stops then lift it off.

Step 5: Set the door on a sturdy towel lined surface.

Step 6: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the two screws which hold the oven to the cabinet. There will be one screw on each side of the oven frame.

Step 7: Lift the oven out of the cabinet.

Step 8: Take out the screws which hold the upper back panel of the oven in place.

Step 9: Lift the back panel off and set it aside.

Step 10: Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out the two screws which hold the bracket underneath the cooling fan.

Step 11: Also take out the other two quarter inch screws which hold the cooling fan in place.

Step 12: Disconnect the wires from the cooling fan and test it with a multimeter. If there is no continuity, the cooling fan should be replaced.

Step 13: Get a new cooling fan and connect the wires to it.

Step 14: Position the cooling fan on the oven’s rear and hold it in place with the two quarter inch screws.

Step 15: Reposition the bracket and hold it in place with the two screws.

Step 16: Return the oven’s back panel and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 17: Lift the oven up and push it back into the cabinet.

Step 18: Secure the sides of the oven to the cabinet with the two Philips head screws.

Step 19: Lift the oven door and position the hinges into the slots on the sides of the oven frame.

Step 20: Open the door and flip the hinge locks back.

Step 21: Close the door of the oven.

Step 22: Switch the oven’s circuit breaker back on.

2. Temperature Sensor

Step 8: Connect the wire plug to the temperature sensor.

Step 9: Reposition the oven’s upper back panel and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 10: Return the lower back panel and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 11: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.

3. Control Board
