If the microwave light and fan stay on, there must be a problem with the door switch. To determine if this is the case, follow these steps…

Step 1: First, ensure that the microwave is off and unplugged.

Step 2: Take out the screws at the back and sides of the microwave.

Step 3: After taking out the screws, lift the microwave cover up and take it out.

Step 4: Behind the door panel, you will see three door switches. Remove the top door switch from the holder.

Step 6: Do this same test with the other door switches to determine if more than one switch is faulty. If they aren’t return the switches to exactly the same places you took them from.

Step 7: Get a new door switch and place it in the holder.

Step 8: Return the microwave cover.

Step 9: Screw it back tightly.
