Panasonic Microwave Door Starts Running When Door Opens
If your Panasonic microwave runs when you open the door, one of the door switches is faulty. To test and replace the door switch in a Panasonic microwave, do the following…
Step 1: Turn off and unplug the microwave from the outlet.
Step 2: Take out the screws at the top, sides and back of the microwave which hold the cover in place.
Step 3: Lift up the microwave cover once you have taken out all the screws.
Step 4: Take out the first door switch from the holder.
Step 5: Press the small button on it to determine if the door switch is faulty or not. If there is a strong click, the door switch is still good so return it. If the button feels loose, you will need to replace the door switch. Click here to know more about testing microwave door switches.
Step 6: Do this same test with the other door switches.
Step 7: Disconnect the wires from the faulty door switch.
Step 8: Get a new door switch and connect the wires to it.
Step 9: Place the door switch in the holder.
Step 10: Reposition the microwave cover and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 11: Plug the microwave back in.

How To Replace a Panasonic Microwave Door Latch
If your Panasonic microwave door doesn’t open or close easily, you will need to replace the door latch. To replace a Panasonic microwave door latch, do the following…
Step 1: Unplug the microwave.
Step 2: Open the microwave door.
Step 3: Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully pry out the trim around the door.
Step 4: Unhook the spring at the bottom of the door latch.
Step 5: Remove the door latch.
Step 6: Get a new door latch and install it by first inserting the top part of the door latch into the hole at the top then doing the same with the bottom one.
Step 7: Hook the spring back making sure that it is properly positioned.
Step 8: Align the door trim back and snap it into place.
Step 9: Close the microwave door.
Step 10: Plug the microwave back in.
