Panasonic Microwave Turntable [Issues & Solutions]

While your microwave would still work without the turntable, it is still needed. Without a turntable, you will get uneven food. So, if your Panasonic microwave turntable isn’t turning and you would like to fix it, keep reading.

Panasonic Microwave Turntable Not Turning

There is more than one possible reason why your Panasonic microwave turntable is not turning. We will cover each one and how to fix them.

The Turntable Motor

To replace the turntable motor in a Panasonic microwave, do the following…

Step 1: Unplug the microwave.

Step 2: Take out the glass tray, support, and drive coupler from within the microwave.

Step 3: Turn the microwave to rest on its top.

Step 4: Take out the screws at the back of the microwave.

Step 5: Also take out the screws which hold the bottom panel of the microwave in place.

Step 6: Carefully remove the bottom panel.

Step 7: Take out the two screws which hold the turntable motor to the bottom of the microwave.

Step 8: Remove the turntable motor and disconnect the wires connected to it.

Step 9: To determine if the turntable motor is faulty, test it using a multimeter. If there is no continuity, you will need to replace the turntable motor. Click here to know how to test a turntable motor using a multimeter.

Step 10: Get a new turntable motor and connect the wires to the terminals of the motor.

Step 11: Position the turntable motor and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 12: Align the bottom panel and secure using the screws.

Step 13: Return the screws at the back of the microwave.

Step 14: Turn the microwave back to its upright position.

Step 15: Return the drive coupler, support, and glass tray back to the microwave.

Step 16: Plug the microwave in.

The Glass Tray Support

Another reason your Panasonic microwave turntable may have stopped turning is because of a damaged glass tray support. Open the microwave door and take out the glass tray. Closely inspect the glass tray support to determine if it is damaged. If the support appears damaged in any way, replace it.

The Drive Coupler

Your Panasonic microwave turntable may also have stopped turning because the drive coupler is damaged. Take out the glass tray and support from the microwave. Pull the coupler out and inspect it for any cracks. If the coupler is damaged in any way, replace it.
