Samsung Gas Range Flame Too High — How To Fix

If the flame of your Samsung oven is too high, the gas valve and pressure regulator should be replaced. Below are the steps you need to follow to replace your Samsung oven gas valve and regulator…

Step 1: Unplug the oven.

Step 2: Shut off the gas supply to the oven.

Step 3: Using a wrench, take out the bolt which secures the gas pipe to the regulator.

Step 4: Set the gas pipe aside.

Step 5: Go to the front of the oven and pull out the bottom drawer.

Step 6: Lift the drawer out and set it aside.

Step 7: Look underneath the oven. If there is a metal shield covering the gas valve, take out the screws which secure it.

Step 8: Take out the valve shield from the oven and set it aside.

Step 9: Loosen the bolt which secures the gas tub to the valve.

Step 10: Disconnect the two wires connected to the gas valve.

Step 11: Take out the screws which hold the gas valve and pressure regulator in place.

Step 12: Remove the gas valve assembly from the oven.

Step 13: Get a replacement gas valve and regulator.

Step 14: Unscrew the mounting brackets from the old assembly and position them on the new one.

Step 15: Screw the mounting brackets to the new gas valve assembly.

Step 16: Remove the fitting on the old regulator and position it on the new one. Apply sealant to the fitting before screwing it to the new regulator.

Step 17: Position the gas valve assembly in the oven and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 18: Reconnect the wires to the gas valve assembly.

Step 19: Connect the gas tube to the new gas valve and hold it in place with the nut.

Step 20: Reposition the valve shield and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 21: Slide the bottom drawer of the oven back in.

Step 22: Go to the back of the oven and screw the gas pipe back to the pressure regulator.

Step 23: Turn on the gas supply.

Step 24: Plug the oven back in.

Step 1: Turn on the faulty burner and set it to low.

Step 2: Pull off the oven knob.

Step 3: Hold the stem of the burner valve in place using a pair of pliers.

Step 4: Insert a 1/8th inch screwdriver into the opening in the stem.

Step 5: To reduce the flame, turn the screw in the stem to the right. Turn the screw to the left to increase the flame.

Step 6: Push the knob back in and turn off the burner.

Step 7: Follow these same steps to adjust the flame of any other burners.
