Samsung Microwave Burning Smell — How To Fix
Your Samsung microwave has a burning smell either because there are some burnt pieces inside or some components in the microwave are beginning to fail.
Inspect the microwave for any bits of food. If you see that your microwave has a burning smell because of some burnt pieces of food, follow these steps to get rid of the burning smell in your Samsung microwave:
Step 1: Remove the burnt pieces of food from within the microwave.
Step 2: Clean inside the microwave using a grease removing fluid or a solution of water and vinegar.
Step 3: Place one big cup or two smaller cups in a container that’s microwave safe with lemon juice, vanilla extract or teabags.
Step 4: Microwave for 3-5 minutes on the highest setting or just till the water begins to boil.
Step 5: Leave inside without opening the microwave door for 30 minutes. Repeat the process if needed.
However, if there aren’t burnt pieces of food and you smell burning plastic, the Samsung microwave’s electrical components are failing.
Do not try fixing this yourself as it is a very complicated process and you can greatly damage the microwave if you do it the wrong way. There are two ways you can solve this problem; either call a professional technician or purchase a new microwave.
