When a Samsung microwave runs by itself with the door open or closed, it can be very dangerous. If no one is at home and the microwave is plugged in, it can be a real disaster. That is why, in this article, we are going to show you what to do if your Samsung microwave runs by itself.
Samsung Microwave Runs When Door Is Open
To fix this issue, you will need to replace the microwave door switch. to replace the door switch in a Samsung microwave, do the following…
Step 1: Unplug the microwave.
Step 2: Look at the top of the microwave, you should see two screws. There should be one on each side.
Step 3: Take out the screws with a screwdriver.
Step 4: Open the microwave door and take out the vent at the top front of the microwave.
Step 5: Once you take out the front vent, you should see three screws at the right side which secure the control panel (one at the top side, one in the middle, and the last one at the bottom). Take them out.
Step 6: Now, take out the control panel by raising it up and gently pulling out. There are three switches inside. Anyone of them could be the cause of the problem.
Step 7: Look inside at your left, you will see one of the switches there with a yellow plastic piece sticking out of it. There will be a white switch below the first one, and the last one at the bottom will be black.
Step 8: Remove the three switches so that you can test which one has the fault.
Step 9: To test each of them, press the small button on top of each one. If you hear a click when you press it, then it is still working perfectly fine. If not, then it is the one you need to change. Keep in mind that you might need to change more than one switch.
Step 10: Get a new switch and put it where the previous one was. You need to make sure that the new switch you get is the same as the one you took out.
Step 11: Screw the control panel piece back with the three screws you removed.
Step 12: Return the vent you removed from the top front of the microwave and screw back the two screws that were at the top.
