If one or more keys on your Samsung oven are shorted, the touchpad should be replaced. Look at this article to replace the touchpad of your Samsung oven.

How To Repair A Shorted Keypad On A Samsung Microwave

Follow the steps below to fix a shorted keypad on your Samsung microwave oven…

Step 1: Unplug the microwave’s power cord from the outlet.

Step 2: Open the microwave door.

Step 3: Take out the screws on the top of the microwave’s front grille. There will be either two or three screws.

Step 4: Lift off the front grille.

Step 5: Remove the screws at the left side of the microwave’s control panel. If there isn’t a screw at the left, take out the one at the top of the panel.

Step 6: Lift up the panel and lower it.

Step 7: Note where each wire goes on the microwave then disconnect. Take a picture to make it easier.

Step 8: Lift up the plastic holder on the control board which holds the green ribbon cable in place.

Step 9: Pull out the cable and clean the ends with an eraser.

Step 10: Push the cable back into the holder.

Step 11: Push the plastic holder down to secure.

Step 12: Reconnect the wires to the control board.

Step 13: Screw the control board back into place.

Step 14: Return the front grille and secure with the screws.

Step 15: Close the door.

Step 16: Plug the microwave back in.

If this doesn’t fix the problem, the microwave’s touchpad should be replaced. Below are the steps to follow in order to replace your Samsung microwave’s touchpad…

Step 1: Unplug your microwave or switch the circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Remove the Philips head screws at the top of the front vent.

Step 3: Open the microwave door and remove the front vent.

Step 4: Remove the screw which holds the control panel in place. There will be one screw at the top or left side of the control panel.

Step 5: Lift the control panel up.

Step 6: Take a picture of where each wire is connected to on the control board.

Step 7: Disconnect all the wires from the control board.

Step 8: Remove the screws which hold the control board to the control panel.

Step 9: Disconnect the ribbon cable from the board by lifting up the plastic holder.

Step 10: Warm the front of the control panel using a hair dryer. This will melt the glue which helps the touchpad stick to the control panel.

Step 11: Carefully peel of the touchpad.

Step 12: Get a new touchpad.

Step 13: Insert the ribbon cable into the slot on the side of the control panel first.

Step 14: Stick the touchpad to the panel.

Step 15: Screw the control board to the panel.

Step 16: Connect the ribbon cable to the control board then push the plastic holder down.

Step 17: Reconnect all the wires to the right places on the control board.

Step 18: Reposition the control panel and secure it with the screw.

Step 19: Return the front grille and the screws which hold it in place.

Step 20: Close the microwave door and plug it back in.
