Step 1: First, turn off the microwave.
Step 2: Open the microwave door.
Step 3: Using a putty knife or a flathead screwdriver, pry out the frame around the door.
Step 4: If part of the spring which holds the door latch has broken off, you will need a pair of pliers.
Step 5: Using the pliers, bend the tip of the spring and hook it back up.
Step 6: Realign the door frame and snap it into place.
Step 7: Turn the microwave back on.

How to Replace a Sharp Microwave Door Switch
To replace a Sharp microwave door switch, do the following…
Step 1: Turn off and unplug the microwave from the outlet.
Step 2: Take out the screws at the back of the microwave then lift the cover out.
Step 3: Take out the screw at the top of the door switch holder.
Step 4: Take out the other screw at the bottom.
Step 5: Bring the door switch holder out so that you can gain access to the switches.
Step 6: To determine which door switch is faulty, press the button on each one. If there is a strong click when you do this, the door switch is okay. However, if the button on one of the door switches feels loose, you will need to replace it.
Step 7: Take the faulty door switch out and disconnect the wires.
Step 8: Get a new door switch and connect the wires to the right terminals.
Step 9: Place the door switch back in the holder.
Step 10: Realign the door switch holder and hold it in place at the top and bottom with the screws.
Step 11: Reposition the microwave cover and secure it with the screws.
Step 12: Plug the microwave in and test it out.

If your Sharp microwave door is stuck, you will need to replace the door latch bracket. To do this, follow these steps…
Step 1: Turn off and unplug the microwave.
Step 2: Take out all the screws which hold the microwave cover in place. There will be a couple of screws at the back.
Step 3: Remove the microwave cover.
Step 4: Remove the door latch bracket.
Step 5: Get a new door latch bracket and install it.
Step 6: Reposition the microwave cover and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 7: Plug the microwave back in.

Sharp Microwave Door Fogging Up
It is normal for condensation to form on your Sharp microwave door. This happens when you cook food with a high water content.
