How to Replace a Sharp Microwave Light Bulb

If the light in your Sharp microwave isn’t working, the light bulb is probably faulty. To learn how to replace a Sharp microwave light bulb, follow the steps listed below…

Step 1: Turn off and unplug the microwave.

Step 2: Take out the screws at the back and side of the microwave. There should be four at the back and one at the side.

Step 3: Push the microwave cover out enough to gain access to the bulb.

Step 4: Take out the screw which holds the light bulb in place.

Step 5: Disconnect the two wires connected to the bulb.

Step 6: Get a new bulb and connect the wires to it.

Step 7: Hold the bulb down with the screw.

Step 8: Push the microwave cover back and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 9: Plug the microwave back in.

Step 1: First, turn the microwave off then unplug it from the outlet.

Step 2: Take out all the screws which secure the microwave cover.

Step 3: After taking out all the screws, remove the microwave cover and set it aside.

Step 4: There are usually three door switches in a microwave. Locate the top door switch and press the small button on it. If the button feels loose when pressed, it is faulty. However, if there is a strong click, the door switch is still good.

Step 5: Do this same test with the other screws.

Step 6: Take out the screw near the top door switch.

Step 7: Remove the door latch bracket to gain access to the other screw at the bottom.

Step 8: Take out the screw there as well.

Step 9: Take out the door switch holder.

Step 10: Remove the faulty door switch from the holder.

Step 11: Note where each wire goes then disconnect them from the faulty door switch.

Step 12: Get a new door switch and connect the wires to the right terminals.

Step 13: Place the door switch back in the holder.

Step 14: Reposition the door switch holder and hold it in place with the screws at the bottom and top.

Step 15: Return the door latch bracket.

Step 16: Reposition the microwave cover and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 17: Plug the microwave back in.
