Step 1: Open the oven door and take out the racks.

Step 2: Get a store bought oven cleaner.

Step 3: Put on some gloves and shake the oven cleaner well.

Step 5: Close the oven door and leave the cleaner to sit for the time recommended on the can.

3. Residue From An Oven Cleaner

Step 2: Go to the oven’s rear and take out the screws holding the lower back panel in place. Do this with a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 3: Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the bake element and open the oven door.

Step 4: Remove the racks and set them aside.

Step 5: Take out the screws holding the oven’s bottom panel in place then lift it out.

Step 6: Take out the screw on the back wall of the oven which holds the bake element.

Step 7: Also take out the screws which hold the bake element support brackets in place.

Step 8: Remove the bake element from the oven and get a new one.

Step 9: Return all the screws which hold the bake element in place.

Step 10: Reposition the oven’s bottom panel and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 11: Return the racks to the oven and shut the door.

Step 12: Go to the oven’s rear and reconnect the wires to the terminals of the bake element.

Step 13: Return the oven’s back panel and the screws which secure it.

Step 14: Reconnect the oven’s power cord or switch the circuit breaker back on.

To replace the broil element of your Whirlpool oven, follow these steps…

Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord or switch the circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Remove the oven’s upper back panel by taking out the screws which hold it in place using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 3: Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the broil element and open the oven door.

Step 4: Remove the racks.

Step 5: Take out the screws at the top and back walls of the oven interior which hold the broil element in place. There are two screws at the top and one screw at the back.

Step 6: Pull the broil element out and get a new one.

Step 7: Position the broil element in the oven and hold it in place with the screws at the top and back.

Step 8: Return the racks to the oven.

Step 9: Shut the door and go back to the oven’s rear.

Step 10: Connect the wires to the terminals of the broil element.

Step 11: Reposition the oven’s upper back panel and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 12: Plug the oven back in or switch the circuit breaker back on.
